MESMERIZED by this water fall!
Our search today took us from Purlear, NC near Buck Mountain all the way over to Ferguson, NC ---and a few places in between.
After a while things start blending together and all the cabins start looking the same!
At this point I think…THINK…..we may have narrowed it down to two and are having a hard time deciding which is best!
I took a little video at the bottom of this lovely waterfall on Buck Mountain just so you could hear the burble of spring arriving.
I honestly COULD stand here and watch that water fall for hours --- just listening…..
This is where my soul finds peace.
Where do you find your peace?
And this view…..couldn’t you just….look out at this forever?
Still not rushing into anything ---but I feel like every trip we are getting closer to where we want to be.
Tomorrow-- I'll share more pics of what we saw -- but tonight --I'm going to sew :)
I agree I love the mountains of North Carolina. I am back in Georgia and would love to retire in the North Carolina Mountains. Thanks for the peaceful waterfall video.
ReplyDeleteGood luck looking

Gorgeous view Bonnie. Thanks for sharing the bubbling water.
ReplyDeleteOh that wonderfully peaceful sound, thanks for sharing Bonnie.
ReplyDeleteLove the waterfall and the stream and while I agree with you about listening to it all day long ... my trips to the bathroom would increase dramatically ... LOL
ReplyDeleteI have always preferred the mountains to the beach. Call me crazy, but I am with you on this.
ReplyDeleteWow; wonderful sounds! I think I would want a cabin on a knoll; looking at that waterfall; where I could sit on the porch and here the falls, but never worry about flooding!
ReplyDeleteI found my peace for a few years after I was widowed, on the aft of a cruise ship, watching the foaming water coming from the ships turbine screws. At sunrise when everyone is asleep , or sunset when they are rushing off to cocktails and dinner, I would be found in a loungechair or leaning against a railing watching the foam turquoise and breath the fresh air.
I love the mountains and finding a little waterfall with the bubbling water flowing down is just like heaven! Get that one!
ReplyDeleteI'm just setting up my new house at the beach so I have to say a sunset walk on the beach and the full moon rising at the same time is something special, all while holding hands with my favorite husband........priceless :0).
ReplyDeleteHave a Blessed Easter and
Happy Seing
That waterfall is beautiful and so is the scenery. So peaceful! You guys are on the right track for sure! I've always preferred the mountains to the beach, too.
ReplyDeleteLove the waterfall, love the view! Can't wait for pictures tomorrow. Thanks for taking us along on your quest for a mountain retreat!!

Lovely peaceful sound!
ReplyDeleteWith the waterfall and that view, I'd have to mark it SOLD!!!
ReplyDeleteBonnie, you will KNOW the one when you walk in the door. Every house we have ever owned, that happened. Like the entire place as you walk in is saying WELCOME HOME.
ReplyDeleteMy serene places are 2 - either sitting in the late evening on the Atlantic Coast of FL in the sand, staring out over the ocean ... or sitting in the woodlands of TN, without sound or movement. "your" waterfall is gorgeous too.

That looks so peaceful Bonnie, and the waterfall is beautiful. I think you could be easily content with such a view of uninterrupted nature.
ReplyDeleteWaterfalls and forested areas. So amazingly beautiful and tranquil. I love them. Thank you for sharing this waterfall.
ReplyDeleteWaterfalls, lakes and the ocean all bring peace to me. What a beautiful place!
ReplyDeleteI love the waterfall, thank you for sharing! We have a cottage in northern Michigan on a beautiful, clear, aqua lake that is spring fed. I find peace on the dock in the summer looking up at the stars, watching the water turn lavender at dusk, and I jump out of bed to watch the sunrises on the water. The full moons are incredible with the reflection on the water. In spring, I can't wait to see the wildflowers and the fall color is incredible. I love snow but we don't get up there as much as I would like in the winter! I wish you the best in your search and I'm glad you are taking your time and exploring! You will love your cabin!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to reading your Blog every day. Keep up the good work. You keep me inspired. I think I will start that trip around the world quilt....I have so many unfinished projects..oh well.
ReplyDeleteToo much fun starting something new. I love your quilts and your energy.

My peace comes from the beach. I could never live more than a few minutes away. We spend at least one day a week walking, searching for sea glass or just being there. Rain, wind or sun we can't stay away. I've solved problems, made big decisions, grieved and celebrated with the surf, sand and birds at the sea. I even accepted by husband's marriage proposal there 30+ years ago. Everyone should have a "place" to go among nature that brings them pure joy!~

North Carolina absolutely stunning. I would love to move there. That is where Last of the Mohicans was filmed.
