It's a busy little bee hive in the Quilting Quarters at Quiltville Inn!
The October Quiltvillians are in the house and already creating wonderful things!
It's wonderful to have them back and see what they've brought to work on. Some projects are a continuation of what was worked on last year - as in - "I only work on this at retreat." LOL!
Some are in a rush to get done by the holidays -
I'm so happy to see Wendy's Pine Tree Point making an appearance!n We just need a couple more good frosts and the tree harvesting will start happening here in the mountains of Southwestern Virginia.
You know how I love to see Christmas Tree wagons pulling loads of trees down the road.
It's a sign that things ARE slowly returning to normal around here after Helene hit.
Melinda is putting together a Christmas quilt in red and green - so pretty!
Tonni's Mabel's Choice blocks are back -
And just like the antique quilt that inspired mine, she is adding signatures to the blocks. So fun!

Ladder Star is all cut out and kitted up and ready for days of sewing fun. I can't wait to see these blocks come together.
It just makes me so happy to see all the pretty fabrics and wonderful blocks becoming quilts!
A handful of us got out to see what was left of the fall color - it's a repeat of the walk we did down Bear Branch road last week - and it has definitely changed in a week. Leaves are mostly gone now.

And this time of the afternoon was lovely.
The cows are still curious. I love them!
So do my walkers!
This tree still freaks me out.
I hope they come take care of it soon.

So....the saga of the burned out burner on the inn oven? It continues.
The part we had overnighted came. But it wasn't all we needed (Wish someone would have told us that when we called to order, but oh well.) More parts are on order and will be here early next week - fingers crossed.
We've let the November Quiltvillians who arrive next Wednesday know that the oven may be out of commission during their retreat but they have the stove top, the microwave, crockpots, roaster oven, instant pot, griddle and grill at their disposal.
It's this kind of stress that had me waking up in the middle of the night with a stress headache. I'm moving slow this morning. But I'm moving.
I did SOME of this. Not much. Just worn out.
This morning a group of retreaters are heading out on a shop hop and lunch out. I was going to go, but I'm just too draggy this morning with interrupted sleep so I'm going to take it slow.
I've got some kits to make for my upcoming trip to England.
I have the borders to add to my stitchery project for Australia happening in January.
I think a quiet day of putterint is in order.

Do take care of yourself! Being an inn keeper is a big job!! I have a "fancy" glass stove top in my breakfast bar and am down one burner unit. Guess which one, the one I use all the time. Is it fixable.....yeah, but unless I do it myself it probably won't get fixed in the near future. Hang in ther.

Way back when my daughter was in grade school, she had a science fair project to do and she couldn’t come up with an idea. I was cleaning out the frig one day and found an orange with mold growing on it. That was it! She did the science project about various kinds of mold and won a big blue ribbon! Years later we discovered she’s highly allergic to mold. Who knew?
