There is no stopping the July Quiltvillians!
They have been on a mission since their arrival on Wednesday.
The gauntlet was thrown down and I have never seen such productivity! The creativity was overflowing and everyone was motivated to get some serious making accomplished.
The Punkin Patch quilt on the design wall (from my book String Frenzy) began as a handful of block parts - and as of yesterday received it's final flying geese borders. Hooray!
But as if that wasn't enough - next to Punkin' Patch are some Maymont blocks -
I love these! And they are so simple with strip piecing.
I'm sure these will all be sewn up before packing up time!
Tracy has been busy working on her Fat Quarter shop box projects this retreat -
I love the small projects each box contains - this one is going to be a baby quilt, and came with everything she needed to make it - she just needed to add a background.
Tada!! It's adorable and so easy!
Another cute Fat Quarter Shop box project by Tracy - we had a lot of Halloween projects popping up this retreat. Again - small projects like this are wonderful for retreat sewing.
Next Fat Quarter box project - Pennants! Oh cute.
Jeanette's Jacob's Chain.
So summery in a soft red white and blue!
Jeanette's Grecian Cross project with chambray as the background. It has such a lovely feel! Next up - binding.
Also in Jeannette's binding queue - a sashed bowtie quilt she made with layer cake squares. Wonderful!
Everyone fell in love with Betty's Crabby quilt - it's destined as a throw for a beach house. FUN! These little guys have to make you smile.
All the fun food fabrics!!
Gorgeous batik squares!
Nearly a finish - one border to go!
This is a wedding signature quilt signed by guests - it's going to be such a great memento of a memorable wedding.
Sister's Choice blocks from the Free Patterns tab. Getting close to having enough done for a quilt top here!
Nickel quilt on the left, Temperature quilt houses on the right!
And this was my afternoon:
Two dogs to the vet for checkups and shots - and a nail trim.
Stop it with the side ye, Mabel!
Everyone is fine. we even got them their Lyme vaccines.
Mabel has a slight heart murmur, but it isn't anything that should slow her down. We'll just keep an eye on it.
Zoey - oh, Zoey. They tried to trim her nails but there was no going. She wouldn't have it.
We have to go back in 3 weeks to have the second round of Lyme boosters - and we've got chill pills for Zoey so hopefully they can attend to her nails then.
We love our vet. It's an hour's drive away, but worth it. This is the vet that was able to cure Tula of her osteomyelitis - and they are so kind and treat our animals like the family members that they are.
Though we left at 1pm to get everything done - I did get this video posted before we left. Click to Play:
Color me content and happy with a hoop in my lap!
It's changing of the guards day.
The July Quiltvillians are headed home. The August Quiltvillians are on their way.
And Tracy gets to stay!
One of the August Quiltvillians had an emergency and wasn't able to come last minute, so Tracy is taking her place. Hopefully she won't run out of projects. LOL!
I'll be glad for the extra company as Housekeeper Susan and I go into whirlwind mode to flip the house and get things ready.
Also today - The quilts from my exhibit at the Quilter's Hall of Fame are on the way home! They'll be arriving by dinner time, and the folks driving will also be staying the night at Quiltville Inn in between groups in thanks for their making the trip to get them all back to me safely without having to ship them.
My thanks to everyone who attended my exhibit. I can't thank you enough for supporting the Quilter's Hall of Fame and their mission by going to see them. Your visit helped them iommensely!
Quiltville Quote of the Day -
Crazy week ahead - but we've got this!
Have a terrific Tuesday, everyone!
My dog China, who is about the size of Zoe, also HATES to have her feet touched! But, our vet is also a large animal vet just sweeps her up and puts her under his arm and trims her raptor claws!
ReplyDeleteWow! Thanks for the quilt show. Lots of ladies hard at work.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll start a new table runner. Love these fast projects! Hmmm, strawberries.
Poor Miss Mabel, Zoey has to take it easy on her when they're on their jaunts. Ha.
Grocery shopping today first.
No sun here at all today. Gloomy.
Happy sewing and have a Sparkling day.
Thanks for the mini quilt show. Such fun seeing all the hard work. Great quilts. Wonderful job.
ReplyDeletewow plenty of eye candy and inspiration from all those projects
ReplyDeleteAmazing to see all the people who did get to go see your Quilts. I have my Bonnie 'Quiltville' Quilts in a special place. So glad they are delivering them back to you. Enjoy the turn around time. You're the best!
ReplyDeleteI love hand quilting the Baptist fan and enjoy watching your progress. It keeps me going on my own hand quilting (my favorite way to quilt).
ReplyDeleteLove it! What a great post. I too have a bunch of FQS projects that need to be done... but they just get set aside "until I can!" Wrapping up some sewing this week... (though that never happens in this house!) Working on CHilhowie blocks. I am expanding it to make it a king size for my brother's new house! So glad the fur babies are well... & took the visit as expected! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy quilting!
My husband and I were there last Thursday the 25th, and had a lovely time seeing everything. We also met the woman who is driving your quilts home to you with her husband. Lovely gal, lovely exhibit--TINY pieces in some of those quilts, LOL!--and I was so delighted to be able to get there while visiting our daughter and her family in Indianapolis.
