When Phone Batteries Die -

We took our opportunity to hang quilts over the porch rail on the last day of retreat with the Pieceful Hearts quilters.

And right as we were going out - I couldn't get my phone to turn on.  What the heck?

My phone battery - totally dead.  Ladies waiting with quilts over the rail.

I asked Siobhan to step in as photographer - but since she didn't have much of a cell connection where we are, this is the only photo I've received of that over the porch rail event so far.

It is what it is folks!

Note to self - keep an eye on the phone battery levels!

I did coax her phone away from Sio so I could take a photo of her beautiful Rhododendron Trail quilt finish - I love the golden yellow she used as border.  Beautiful!

Great cooks in the kitchen!

This kitchen was made for making yummy food - and the Pieceful Hearts gals NEVER disappoint!

This huge pot of yumminess contains Siobhan's infamous corn chowder - SO delicious!

And here's the recipe!

Our version had kielbasa - so flavorful!

Another meal that was so good I didn't get photos - but I will be making this SOON:

I took photos of the recipe card - convenient!

This was the best pulled pork and made in the instant pot.

Backside of card - definitely a keeper!

When I arrived yesterday morning - everyone was gone but Patty and her carload of quilters.  She was parked in the driveway sending this message.  Oh the frowny faces! LOL!!

The even funnier thig was - because she was in the driveway it wouldn't send.....not until she reached town about 1/2 hour down the road and it came in while I was doing laundry.  LOL!

Monday morning before the phone died.

Thanks for everything gals, it was great to have you here!

Oh and notice the purses?

These were a group retreat project taught by one of the group - no pattern info - and they all turned out so cute!

Snazzy ladies!

With the Pieceful Hearts gals back on the road home....and just a day to flip the house and get it ready for the arrival of Chris's Christmas in July group arriving this afternoon...guess what was in store for me in between switching loads from washer to dryer?

It's a black and white photo y'all!

Time is flying by quickly.  And I'll be gone the first half of September to Poland and Italy. (There is still room if you want to come! But hurry, space is limited!

If you don't see much quilty progress on anything from me over the next several weeks, just know that I am working like crazy behind the scenes to get our upcoming Quiltville Winter Mystery quilt ready.

Oh boy!  It's going to be so cool! I know you are going to love it.

It's a hit!  Thank you so much!

That corn recipe is somewhat like my Mother’s, only she put it in a casserole and put a “crust” of Bisquick over it and baked according to package directions. Extra was set aside to add to each bowl. Also, the pulled pork recipe made think of Judy of Patchwork Times because it has Dr. Pepper. She loves Dr. P. Dotti in CT

  3. Corn Chowder, Yum! I use Taco Seasoning and Root Beer in my Sweet Pulled Pork. Oh, no on the cell phone dying. No extra power pack for a quick charge?? Love the Mystery teasers. Keep on Stitchin'
