Chilhowie In Pattern Form!

Good Morning, Quiltvillians!

Our Chilhowie Mystery Season was the best one yet in my book!

I'm so grateful for all that participated during our mystery season, and I look forward to quilting again with me next time!

If you are new here, our Quiltville Winter Mystery begins with the introductory post being released on Halloween.  The introduction includes colors, yardage requirements, special tools needed if any, along with background information.

The mystery starts in earnest on Black Friday, the day after our Thanksgiving day here in the USA.

Mysteries usually run around 7 or 8 weeks with each new "clue" being released on subsequent Fridays.

A month after the reveal the mystery is removed from my website, rewritten, and presented to you as a PDF pattern for purchase.

That happened this morning!

Chilhowie is now available in PDF pattern booklet form, available in both the Quiltville Store and the Quiltville Etsy Pattern Shop!

Nine-patches, Four-patches, Hourglass units and other quilter’s favorites combine in an explosion of color!

Pattern includes 20 pages of full-color photos, graphics, and detailed instruction for your ultimate scrappy success!

All of the hints, tips, tricks and construction options we went through during mystery season are included so you can make Chilhowie YOUR way.

The best part?  No more scrambled parts and wondering which units go where.  It's all laid out for you step-by-step in a cohesive manner.

Quilt Size: 78’’ X 78’’

Optional but helpful: Essential Triangle Tool and either the Simple folded Corners ruler, or the Simple Folded Corners Mini.

Traditional rotary cutting methods are given for those who don't have access to these rulers.

Introductory Special:

Chilhowie PDF Pattern Booklet is now 25% off through 2/28/23.  No coupon needed!  Hurry now and save!

Pattern reverts to full on 3/1/23.

And of course Lola gives her purr of approval too!

To make this more fun (Is that possible!?) I thought we'd do a little gift-away and draw two winners to each receive Chilhowie in PDF form.

(No fabric gift-away this time, but that will be happening with something ELSE next week, so stay tuned for that too!)

We'll draw for our winner next Monday, 2/13/23.  Good luck, everyone!

My weekend was a quiet one - I feel like it took me all the way through the weekend for my body clock to readjust to being on East Coast time.

I set up with the Juki to do some of this!

While I was in Arizona, The Hubster did me a huge favor and drilled a new hole in my old Janome table so that I could use the presser foot knee lift with the Juki - wouldn't you know it - the original holes were in the wrong spot for this machine.

It may not be pretty - but it WORKS and that is what matters to me.  I really like sewing at a machine IN a table.

My neutral string love knows no bounds!

Oh these are going to be fun!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend - this week I am hitting the ground running.

Friend Martha is coming to help me make the beds at Quiltville Inn - our first group, the February Quiltvillians, arrive on Wednesday!  It's opening week for our 4th season!

Housekeeper Susan comes tomorrow.  I'm looking forward to catching up with her.  We have much sprucing up to do.

On my list for today - dusting ceiling fans, window sills, chair rails and blinds.  Then Susan can work her regular magic with that dust out of the way.

Yesterday the Hubster cleared all of the downed sticks from the yard - our wind storms blew down so many.  The yard looks great.

I can't wait to be open again!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Take a good hard look at the things that are stopping you. Are there valid reasons? Or just excuses?
⁣Remember even a little bit of progress is moving forward.

Have a great Monday, everyone!

  4. Has it been a month since the release already? I just love this one. My daughter was sick so we are dealing with that. Good luck getting the Inn up and running and I hope everyone has a good time! Happy Monday!

  5. Great quote today as I have been making excuses for most of 2022 (recovering from Covid and other life stresses), but enough is enough. 2023 I'm getting myself and my sewing studio back in order and being creatively productive. This year's mystery had so many fabulous versions shared - total eye candy. Have a great week, and enjoy the first retreat of 2023.

  6. I believe that is the same table I have for my two machines. I bought the surround for one. The other one actually works with its surround being level with table. The one with purchased surround I use with the second table top raised and another table to help me with free motion quilting. They are the absolute best tables and help me to hav less neck strain and back ache as my arm position is much better! I hope you enjoy yours as much as I love mine!
