The daffies are ready to pop!
Will it happen while the Lincoln Quilt Guild ladies are here on retreat from Lincolnton, NC?
I hope so!
I've been doing all of the encouraging I can over the past week - and yesterday there was some lovely sunshine and rather warm-ish temps for late February in the Virginia Highlands.
Come on, daffies! You can do it!
These are the wild variety that bloom down the hillside below the back porch - the ones that are sort of a "double bloom." I can't wait to see them out in the open.
Clusters of a different variety in the side yard -
Just below the Quilting Quarters' windows!
I spent most of my day switching things around in anticipation of the Lincolnton gals arrival - and decided to hang my crumb rectangles quilt in the Hen Den for fun -
This decision having been made with the great upheaval and clean out of the upstairs storage room, where I sorted out quilts that were possible "hangers" due to their size and theme.
This one was a blast to make - and I'd love to do another. There is always a plethora of odd scraps to sew together willy-nilly, isn't there? (No pattern.)
With all made ready, and a bit of time before cars started to pull up the drive, I headed over to Roundhouse Road for a walk - we are expecting rain this weekend so I knew it was my only opportunity to get out and move.
My favorite little waterfall spot was lovely and rushing!
And I didn't know until I edited the photos for this post that I actually caught a rainbow in the photo. Bonus!
One again, atching everyone's attention!
And stopping to take yet another photo of a favorite old barn on my return back to the car.
The sky was a beautiful light blue with streaks of paint brush clouds kind - and it did feel good to be outside -
Time? About 45 minutes was all it took. Probably the best decision I made all day.
Still working with oranges and tangerines!
This was all I managed to do in the sewing department yesterday - but it is enough to move me forward and I'll pick up today from where I left off.
And yes, there will be time for visiting with the Lincolnton Ladies as well!
Last weekend to enter - drawing happens MONDAY!
Did you enter the Gift-Away? Drawing happens this coming Monday 2/27/23!
I'll be drawing for two lucky winners to each receive a Butterfly Kisses PDF pattern AND a gorgeous True Colors fabric roll from Cotton to Quilts!
This solids color roll is just the ticket to pump up your solids collection and add some pizazz!
To kick all of this scrappy fun off big time, I've placed Butterfly Kisses at 25% off in both the the Quiltville Store and the Quiltville Etsy Pattern Shop through 2/28/23.
And of course Chilhowie is also 25% off through 2/28/23 in both the Quiltville Store and the Quiltville Etsy Pattern Shop.
I loved hearing the ladies exclaim yesterday as they came in 'There's Butterfly Kisses!"
It does a heart good!
On the table is the smaller version of Kismet.
I love having plenty of opportunities to switch quilts and quilt displays around.
So here we are at Thursday - any plans for today? Starting anything new? Closing in on any finishes?
