Good Morning, Kyoto!

Good Morning, everyone!

We made it in one piece - that's all I can say.

12+ hours of flight time and long customs lines and a 1 1/2 hour drive from Osaka to Kyoto finally rolling into our hotel about 9pm.

Straight to bed.  Nothing explored yet - but soon, very soon!

I'm typing this quickly so I can meet up with folks for an early morning walk - the photo you see here was taken a few minutes ago from my 12th floor window!

Boarding with my buddies Jill & Sue in LA - Jill's hubby Bob is the one Lone Rooster on this trip and we are so happy to have him with us!

I had a row to myself?  All the way to Osaka?  That NEVER happens!  And I must say that Japan Airlines did it right - the bathrooms on the plane were twice the size of "normal" airline bathrooms.  That made the experience so much less of a hassle.

It was sunset as we approached our destination.  I couldn't see much because my seat was right over the wing - but hey, for a row by myself I'll take it!

Tired and weary, our group waits to board our bus for Kyoto!  There are several who we also meet up with today - they came in from different locations and some arrived early to get a bit more exploring in.

This is honestly all I've seen so far - but after a good night's sleep I am ready to see what today will bring!

Quiltville Quote of the Day!

I know it's a pretty much uneventful post, but just wait until I share what we get up to today - this is just a prequel to the main event!

Much love from Kyoto -

  8. Hi Bonnie,
Kyoto is a lovely city, you will enjoy it. If you get a chance check out the great fabric/craft shop lower floor oftof the e Kyoto tower.
I’m sure you will fine the Tokyo quilt festival to be like nothing you have experienced before, not being able to read the labels on the merchandise makes life interesting and the work on some of the Japanese quilts just out of this world. It is a wonderful country to travel in, enjoy
