Cruise Alaska with Me!

A couple of weeks ago I was asked if I would like to teach on another Alaskan cruise, for a shipload of fun in July of 2016!

You know how I love Alaska, and July is such a PERFECT time to be there – I checked my calendar and gave it a resounding YES!

Those who have cruised Alaska with me before will tell you right off what a magical place it is.

I am much more of a nature/mountains girl than I am a beach girl –if your idea of a summer vacation is to keep your jeans and t shirt on and not have to deal with sweaty people wearing spandex and way too much suntan lotion – this is your cruise!

I have been traveling with Jim West and Sew Many Places, a division of Craftours for many years now and I can tell you that his tours are off the charts.

Let me give you a bit more info on this event!

Seattle‘'

Friday July 8th!

We will depart Seattle at 4pm on Friday, July 8th!  All Aboard!

rccl_explorer

Our Ship!  Royal Caribbean Explorer of the Seas!

EXPLORER OF THE SEAS
Is it adventure you seek, or a restful retreat from life on land? Royal Caribbean's Explorer of the Seas® is home to an array of innovations that give you whatever type of vacation you desire.

Climb a rock wall that overlooks the sea, or find your adventure on the basketball court, ice-skating rink or mini-golf course. If it's zen you seek, achieve it poolside or at the relaxing Vitality Spa.

Liven up your nights on the Royal Promenade, with parades, dancing, and duty-free shopping deals. And bring along some friends-with spacious public areas, enhanced staterooms, and a spectacular three-story dining room, this ship has room for your whole crew.
Saturday July 9th we will spend at sea and you will have your first full day of quilting with me on the ship!

InsidePassage

Sunday morning we will awake to the beauties of the inside passage!

Juneau

We Arrive in Juneau at 12pm, Sunday July 10th!

We will have from noon to 9pm to explore Juneau.  You can participate in any of the ship offered excursions during this time.  Explore!  Discover!  Enjoy!

Skagway

Monday, July 11th, Skagway!

Skagway is a great little town for walking and souvenirs – and yes, there is a quilt shop here!  You won’t want to miss it!  There are also a number of excursions that will take you where you want to go.  We have all day to enjoy Skagway.  We arrive at 7am and depart at 8:30pm.

TracyArm

Tuesday July 12th!  Tracy Arm Fjord!

To me the crown of this cruise is the surrounding nature that just can’t be seen any other way but by water.  Tracy Arm Fjord and the glaciers are just something you HAVE to see in person to understand the magnitude and majesty of Alaska, the Last Frontier.

Wednesday is a day at sea and we will be happily busy, sewing away with our workshops.  Maybe you will want to work some of the fabric you picked up in Juneau and Skagway into your projects!  I can’t wait to see what you discover!

Victoria

Thursday, July 14th!  Victora, BC Canada!

The last time I was in Victoria we didn’t have as much time, but this trip –we arrive at 9 am and get to enjoy everything Victoria has to offer, departing Victoria at 9pm back to Seattle.

Our ship docks back in Seattle at 9am on Friday, July 15th.

There will be day classes on our days at sea, and evening sewing activities and Open Sew in the evenings after returning from port and having our dinner.  But if you want to see a show?  Go dancing?  Enjoy the music in the piano bar?  This is YOUR cruise and you are not required to do ANYTHING but enjoy being with us and relaxing.

Schedule a massage, a facial, a pedicure, or all three.  Enjoy the scenery deckside – and take a hand project with you.

Can’t you see us all sitting around enjoying a fruity umbrella drink and hand stitching on something?

I can’t wait!

And yes, hubbies can come!  Friends can come. Family can come.  They don't have to sew --ask about the "non sewing partner" pricing!

So here is what you do.

  2. I have always wanted to see Alaska. I can't think of a better way to see it. However I have never been on a cruise and don't enjoy air travel at all. But for this it just might be worth it. Getting to see that beautiful place and getting to sew would just be the best.

  9. I am going on this cruise in June. My daughter-in-law and I plan on hitting all the quilt shops too. On a previous cruise my favorite was the one in Skagway. Would you share the shop in Tracey Arm and Canada? Thank you.
