March is quickly ebbing by!
I love March – I love that the more days in March rounds out the days we were short-sheeted in February.
March may roar in like a lion, and go out like a lamb, but I wish it would stay around a little longer. March is full of promises – of spring, or new beginnings, of plans for the summer yet to come, and even new quilting projects just around the bend.
I came up to the new cabin on Thursday, and was met by The Hubster yesterday evening back in Wilkesboro for playing yet another round of “load up the trailer!” It’s not as fun as it first was! However, the cabin is now empty of everything that goes IN the new cabin. We picked up my stash cabinet, and I can start unloading the stash from the transporting bins and really set up quilt-keeping here in Virginia.
Another thing he surprised me with is the March Quilty Box which had arrived while I was gone.
It’s an ALISON GLASS box! Oh, yippeeeee! More colors of spring and summer-to-be!
What is a Quilty Box?

- Our retail value of the products in the box is always more than $60
- We will be using the hashtags #QuiltyBox and #GetQuilty

I love knowing that part of the proceeds go to benefit kids. To me that is a win/win all the way around!
Oh, my goodness! A full layer cake of Alison’s beautiful line-
SUN PRINTS by Andover Fabrics!
Aren’t these colors just GORGEOUS?
Each year Alison creates new designs for the Sun Prints line. This year’s designs are Overgrown, Meadow, and Link.
Overgrown features all the things you’d find on a chain link fence. Flowers, birds and leaves cover the geometric background of the chain link. Meadow comes from Alison’s favorite flora and fauna motifs. White accents make bird’s wings and flower petals pop. Link introduces subtle dots over a background of bees and birds.
These fun designs are printed on a rainbow of base fabric and blend well with past Sun Print collections.
In this Quilty Box!
Along with the Sun Prints 10” square pack you will find a pattern booklet for making your own Sun Print patchwork Quilt by Alison Glass.
Two spools of Aurifloss from the Alison Glass collection: Aurifloss is perfectly suited for stitching on all types of fabric and is made with 100% long staple cotton. A brilliant 6-strand divisible thread that may be used as is, or one or more strands may be separated to create thread of various thicknesses. These colors are hand selected to coordinate with the Sun Print collections.
Olfa touch Knife: Once you use this Olfa knife, you’ll see why it’s called “The handiest little knife in the world.” The knife is portable and fits perfectly in your sewing bag. It features a secure blade lock and a hanging hole can slide onto your key-chain.
In fact this morning, we used it to easily slice through the shrink wrap that had mummified my fabric cabinet for transport. I’ve already put it to good use!
Alison Glass stickers! Use these cute stickers to brighten up your correspondence, your sewing machine, anywhere a happy sticker will make you smile.
So who wants this wonderful Quilty Box?
We will be drawing our lucky winner on Wednesday evening, March 29th!
Good luck everyone --
As for me, you’ll find me in the new sewing studio where daylight bulbs are replcing the yellowy flourescents, and stash is being organized and put into its new place.
Quiltville Quote of the Day!
Vintage album block quilt found in North Carolina.
Anger is one letter short of DANGER! It doesn't solve anything, it builds nothing, and it can destroy everything.
And of course, we all know that, right? Throw it out, replace it with something constructive!
Have a wonderful Saturday, everyone -
Bonnie,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your blog. I do not know how you get everything done. Also, thank you for the give away. You are a fabulous person.
Those Sun Prints are absolutely gorgeous! I've had enough of March in NJ - it's been a mixture of clouds, rain, snow and very little sun and no hints of spring at all.

ReplyDeleteThank you for posting the anger quote. I needed to read that today! The Sun Prints are gorgeous and make me feel that Spring is just around the corner.
ReplyDeleteHope your stash is as happy as you are with the new light!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors of the quilty box, they really are forboding summer =^}
It's bright and sunny over here, hope the new cabin is just cheering as my garden full with daffodils!

Hi bonnie
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the cabin and have a great day ursula
Thank you for the chance to win. Hope the unpacking and getting organized goes quickly.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all that you do for us! If I win this quilty box, you can just bring it to Birmingham to the Saturday workshop.
ReplyDeleteMoving the sewing stuff is always fun, isn't it? It will be so good for your creative spirit to immerse yourself in a new space, with a new view and a serene background!
ReplyDeleteI love this quilty box! While I am uauallly a Thimbleberries, Kim Deihl kinda gal, the box just calls out to me! I'm off to Colorado tomorrow night to spend a week with 3 quilting friends, so a new line of fabric to look for (as if I need more fabric!). Hope you're having fun rediscovering your stash.
ReplyDeleteDo you have to look at this page on Facebook to see a "blue 'add your link' button"? Somehow, I do not see it on the blog posting...
ReplyDeleteToday's quote was very profound for me today. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteBonnie...you are an inspiration. Your quotes keep me going!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Mary
Love those new fabrics! If I don't win the Quilty Box, I will have to buy some!
ReplyDeleteThank you Bonnie! I love your inspirational quotes in the morning, and often recycle them to my grandchildren. Not to mention your quilts, LOL. And I'm trying to figure out how you get all you do done!
ReplyDeleteI did ADD A LINK but just wanted to say how excited I am for you to be getting your new digs in order. Enjoy...and many many happy hours of creating there.
ReplyDeleteI love bright prints as they energized me. I adore pale, roses like antique for soft romantic times, and I love 30's period. But those light bulbs make all the difference in seeing Real colors in real time. Coupons and Joanns are on my agenda next week, the sewing Nook is tiny, 7.5 ftx11ft. 4 corners, the overhead light does not supply what I need. Gonna need 4 lights, for 4 important working spots.Emts broke my main day lite 4 months ago, so new is not all on me. Wish it was a bigger room, but my queen bed, etc would not fit in that Sewing Nook, and yes, I did consider it, lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for taking the time in your busy move schedule to have this giveaway.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance, awesome giveaway!!!
ReplyDeleteYou are an awesome person. I do not have a clue how you accomplish so much and also move at the same time. This give away is absolutely gorgeous. I never win at these things but have been told, "you have to be in it to win it." An early congratulations to whomever the winner shall be. :)
ReplyDeleteI thinh this may be my new favorite spring line!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance at a great giveaway .
ReplyDeleteSo do you to 2 stash? Then you would have twice the scraps! đŸ™Œ
ReplyDeleteJust watched your last Quiltcam.....It saddens me too to hear of such hate in this world.Your joyful spirit spills out to so many of us....Thank You!
ReplyDeleteI've been eyeing this fabric. Hope I win! Thanks so much for the chance. :)
ReplyDeleteThe give away is great but that fabric is so sweet. First time I've seen it. Thanks for the give away.
ReplyDeleteOMG these are stunning!
ReplyDeleteI am not angry. I am thankful.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to win this lovely package.
ReplyDeleteI need to change my follow-up comments email address. I have sold that address and the new owner is dangerously angry when she gets my stuff.
Marcia
Those prints are so pretty! Love them
ReplyDeleteBonnie,
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous about your move! My husband hates anything resembling moves but I see them as Christmas presents - you open a box and oh my, things inside - and although you put them there, it is almost as much fun as surprise presents! That's just me!
Wow great fun colors! I'd love to be the winner!
ReplyDeleteThe Sun Prints are Inspiring! Good Luck in finding a special spot for EVERYTHING in the Big Move!
ReplyDeleteI love that colors and prints. What a great chance to win this Give-away
