BEAST Quilters - Over the Rail!

At 7am this morning it was over 70 outside with 99% humidity.  Acccckk! Welcome to summer in the Southeast!

We had folks from New York and Indiana that understand humidity somewhat, but I bet those Utahans are glad to be back where it's simply a DRY heat.  LOL!

No matter the humidity, it was a beautiful morning for displaying quilts over the porch rail at Quiltville Inn.  The cool of the morning shade - the blue of a June morning sky -

It doesn't get much better than this!

There's that wonderful Leader & Ender project that Nola was working on!

A lovely Hearts of Hope quilt (Pattern included in my new Solidarity PDF pattern booklet)

A scenic panel with borders, Sister's Choice (Free Patterns Tab) and Straits of Mackinac from String Frenzy.

It is so exciting to see Lani's Rivanna blocks go from this -

To this!

And the Scrappy Mountain Majesties (Free Patterns Tab) group challenge blocks go from this -

To this!

This lovely was also completed!

If you know the name of this pattern and the designer, please leave it in the comments section below.

Thanks again for such a great visit, BEAST Quilters!

What a fun group to spend the week with!

The echoes of their laughter are still ringing through the empty rooms.  You filled this house with so much joy and creativity!

I took some time to hang this yesterday!

I think it's the perfect place to hang it for all to enjoy from now through Labor Day.

Do you switch your own quilt displays out seasonally?

It's Solidarity PDF pattern booklet release week!

Head on over to the Gift-Away post and enter to win!

And the Hearts of Hope quilt is included as a bonus!

Quilt Your Colors!

Fly your flag’s colors in a whirling, twirling array of favorite scrap fabrics.

The 26-page digital pattern booklet includes directions for both the 68 1/2'' X 68 1/2'' Solidarity quilt and the 58'' X 58'' Hearts of Hope variation.

Easy step-by-step instructions with many full-color photos and graphics to guide you through each step of the way. Block string piecing on paper foundations.

Optional but helpful: Bonnie K. Hunter's Essential Triangle Tool and either the Simple folded Corners ruler, or the Simple Folded Corners Mini.

Traditional rotary cutting methods are given for those who don't have access to these rulers.

And of course - the Solidarity pattern release wouldn't be complete without a Gift-Away!

I'll be drawing for TWO winners!  One will receive a Solidarity PDF pattern from me and a Facets of Red roll, and the second will receive the pattern and a Facets of Blue roll from  Cotton to Quilts!

If the winners are outside of the USA, we can send the fabric prize to a friend within the USA who can forward it on to you.

And yes, there is introductory pricing!

I've marked Solidarity at 25% off through 7/5/22 in both the Quiltville Store and the Quiltville Etsy Pattern Shop.

And that's not all! Also on sale through 7/5/22:

It's time to quilt Red White & Blue!
Come on, you know you want to!

Courthouse Square and Unity are also perfect for Flag Season.  If you missed them the first go-round, they are also 25% off in both the Quiltville Store and the Quiltville Etsy Pattern Shop, no coupon needed!

I love sewing red white & blue - it just shouts SUMMER MEMORIES to me, all the 4th of July family gatherings, parades, picnics.  Bring it on!

From your favorite folks at Quiltmaker - open for registration!

Put your scraps to better use by learning how to not only save them but use them to their full potential. This course focuses on block construction, with the final quilt being up to the imagination of the maker. Courses were inspired by my favorite blocks found in my Addicted to Scraps column with Quiltmaker magazine.

You’ll love this course if you are:

  • A beginning quilter who wants to learn tips and techniques that will make your quilting experience successful
  • A quilter who wants to learn to work with recycled fabrics and scraps of fabric from other projects.

I'll have having a gift-Away for the extra copy, but we've got the other stuff running right now so be looking for that to happen in about a week.

FRIDAY!!  It's balloon festival in Wytheville tonight.  I'm looking forward to it.  New chairs have been bought, 5:30pm is our meet up time with Martha & Don to drive over together.  Photos to come!

How about your own weekend ahead? Got anything fun going on?

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Wishing you much peace through making and through giving today!
Have a lovely day, everyone!

  1. Pattern is Deco by Lo and Behold

  2. Oh what gorgeous quilts over the porch rail.
I finished quilting my wool & flannel quilt..time to start a new project.
Have fun tonight at the balloon fest.

  3. The quilt is Art Deco from Lo & Behold. It is on my to do list.

  4. The pattern in question is called Deco and it is by Lo & Behold Stitchery.

  5. The mystery pattern is Deco by Lo and Behold Stitchery. :)

  6. No nig plans for the Weekend. Just a normal Father's Day. Roast beef dinner and homemade rolls. Hope to get a Flimsy off the Design Floor. Very nice over the porch rail views. Have fun watching the balloons. Ours try to fly in October when it's cooler.

  7. The pattern is available here https://www.loandbeholdstitchery.com/collections/digital-patterns/products/deco-pdf

  8. The porch quilts are gorgeous! Thanks for the quote from Robert Fulghum, such a sweet man, love his stories.

  9. For several years I've have used THE quilt I made for the guest bed and THE quilt I made for my bed. But then I saw a quilt that I just had to make for myself and wanted on my bed. So, I decided to free some of my other quilts from storage and use them, too. I've picked 4 to be rotated seasonally on the guest bed. I'm working on the 3rd for my bed.

  10. Another beautiful quilt display over the porch rail! Love the quote today!

  11. I know BEAST stands for something but can't remember what it is. Looks like a great time had by all. Am in the process of packing up to move half way across the country so not a lot of quilting for me right now. Darn
