June Quiltvillians - Off The Porch Rail!

This is the result of a fabulous retreat weekend with the June Quiltvillians!

Just look at these beautiful finishes!

And a sneaky flame azalea trying its best to occupy a spot.  (It's always been spindly, but we keep encouraging it to flourish.  LOL!)

I look at these ladies and can't help but smile that over the past 3 years they've not only been guests, but they have become my friends.  My heart is as full as the inn!
From Left to right: Narragansett Blues from MORE Adventures with Leaders & EndersTulip Time, Crumb Jumble from String Frenzy  and Wonky Wishes.

These photos were taken on Sunday morning with bright bluebird skies and sunshine.

The best of summer is upon us and the cool of the morning was just beautiful for photo taking.

Garden Party from the Addicted to Scraps book. Unity quilt in progress, Grassy Creek, and a cute comfort lap quilt in progress featuring a darling moose fabric.

Grassy Creek, fun hexagons, Hearts of Hope, and Frolic!

Rhododendron Trail in luscious purples and a Farm Girl Sampler in 30's prints.

What a fantastic way to frame a spooky Halloween panel!

Grassy Creek & an Easy Breezy finish!

Two Tulip Time quilts with two different layouts side by side!

Thanks for everything, June Quiltvillians!

I look forward to another June reunion next year!

And this is how we live the dream come true!

Everyone was on the road by 10am yesterday morning.  It was a day of 12 loads of laundry accompanied by housekeeper Susan who is making everything spic and span for the BEAST quilters arrival this afternoon.

We've got folks from all over arriving today - Indiana, New York and Utah!

Add to that that it started raining this morning, and is supposed to continue through the evening. We may have a batch of wet quilters drying off before bedtime.

My to-do list will have me at my desk quite a bit as we have our June PDE pattern release coming next week also.  Oh boy!

I need quilt photos taken!  And did I mention it's raining?

Center medallion progress!

I hope from this photo that you can see how I am quilting this as I have had many questions.

I am outlining shapes, adding X's to some hexies, and quilting 3 lines for a star burst in the center of the hexie rosettes.  So not every hexie is outlined all the way around.

I finished the center medallion last night while watching The Lost City with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum on Paramount.  It was the hubster's choice and I loved it.  Sandra Bullock comedy with an Indiana Jones vibe?  Yes please!

So not as much stitching happened as I was really WATCHING the movie, not just listening.  But it was a fun one!

Now on to the round of rosettes that encircles the center medallion.  On and on.

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Sometimes we get stuck in a rut because we don't know what the road ahead has in store and we're afraid to take a step.
But if you don't, you'll never get anywhere!
Take the step!

Have a wonderful Wednesday, everyone!

  2. Yes, I often just "move forward" with sewing projects, and just figure it out as I go. I love the 2 different tulip times! It gives me some ideas for this one, which is on my List.

  3. Beautiful Quilts from the Machines this morning. Did they sleep under the finished ones at Quiltville Inn? You could have thrown your June PDF over and taken a photo with them. No sneak peeks huh? I did get some Quilt Yoga and Assembly of Alternate blocks done yesterday. One Step or Stitch at a time!
