It's a rainbow explosion of fun in the Quiltville Studios today as we release the printable PDF pattern for my Catching Rainbows quilt!
Are you as excited as I am?
I have heard from many who have been pulling and setting fabric color families aside for weeks - I suspect this weekend will be a flurry of color for many as you dive in!
I had so much fun making this orange batch!
For quite a few weeks I spent my weekends making blocks, focusing on just one color at a time -
This was all going on while organizing and culling through my fat-quarter boxes - and boy did it make a WONDERFUL dent!
I didn't repeat any of the fabrics in the quilt - not even the neutrals. Just one neutral and one color per block - the leftovers from cutting each block becoming a refresher for my Scrap User's System strip bins - It was sooo good all the way around, breathing new life into the strips stash, and creating some space in the fat-quarters.
All of the pretty-in-pink ones!
These are tools I work with ALL THE TIME and they partner so well together that they are always at hand on my cutting table.
I have provided traditional rotary cutting sizes and methods for those who choose not to use the rulers for whatever reason.
The pattern includes so many full color graphics and photos to guide you each step of the way - along with BOTH unfinished and finished sizes for each and every unit so there is no guess work on your own measuring up.
Sew Much Rainbow Fun!
Pre-approved by Lola!
The printable PDF pattern for Catching Rainbows is now available at the introductory price of $9.00 in the digital patterns section of the Quiltville Store. That's a 25% savings over the regular price of $12.00.
This price drop is good until May 1, 2021 when the price reverts back to full.
The great thing about PDF patterns is that they do not sell out! There is no shortage of merchandise, they are instantly available everywhere around the world no matter where you call home.
You can view the files on your desktop, laptop, tablet or phone! You don't even need to worry about printer ink and paper if you choose not to.
If this is your first time downloading digital patterns from my store to a computer click HERE.

Quilt size: 86’’ x 95.5’’
To kick off this new release, I am partnering with Cotton To Quilts in a fabulous gift-away!
We will be drawing for a lucky winner who will also receive a free Riley's Rainbow Roll to enhance their stash in making Catching Rainbows!
(Winner must have fabric prize shipped to a USA Address.)
Mix and match fabrics from all three different rolls for the ultimate rainbow explosion in your own Catching Rainbows quilt!
Riley's Rainbow was named for Irene's sweet Yorkie Riley who made his way across the rainbow bridge recently. The Riley Roll has some different vibrant greens that the other two rolls do not have -
I love how all 3 rolls play together to create a wonderful mix.
Of course, you don't have to wait to see if you are a winner - head on over to Cotton To Quilts and see all of the scrappy goodness Irene has pulled together for you.
And don't forget the neutrals!!
Okay! Let's DO THIS!
We will draw for our winner on Monday, April 26, 2021!
If you are on Facebook or Instagram - we are using hashtags #quiltville and #catchingrainbowsquilt so we can see your fabric pulls, your blocks in progress and more - PLEASE use the tags! It makes everything so much more fun.
Today is also a momentous day for The Hubster and me - Moderna vaccinations #2 are going in.
While I'm not focusing on possible symptoms, I'm glad we have a weekend ahead of us to lay low and recuperate if we need to. No matter what the side effects - if this puts us one more step toward a more normal life, it's worth it!
What are your plans for this beautiful day ahead?

Happy Friday, Folks!
Thank you Bonnie! And if anyone here is savvy enough to get a zoom sew along together for our new pattern many of us are interested! Bonnie we are hoping you are encouraged by creating patterns we can buy and all of us remain safe! I got my 2nd shot Wednesday so now I can come to Quiltville Inn! Thank you for sharing and being an inspirational part of our day. You are awesome and an important part of my blog life.
ReplyDeleteI get a whole sew day today. Crock pot on, house all caught up. No guilt zone!

ReplyDeleteLove the variety of color you used!
ReplyDeleteI am actually very excited for the release of this one!! I have watched you make it and just ohh and ahhhed over it! Soo cool!!!
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I, too, got Moderna. I am 78 y/o and had no untoward symptoms from the 2nd injection. So glad you’ll be able to get out and about in a couple of weeks!
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if there is a way to know what patterns are in the books. I would like to purchase one, but would like to know what the patterns are first. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteClick the books tab at the top of the blog. Along with each book title is a link to the trunk show sharing the quilts in each book.
DeleteThank you, I don't know why I didn't think of that:/. I was just looking in the store. I'm becoming a scrappy quilter more and more. It's such a creative process for me. I love it. My quilting friends give me all their left-over pieces from the yardage they purchase for their quilts-yeah!
DeleteThank you Bonnie and Irene for the opportunity of the gift away. I’m ramping up for a beautiful warm weekend in the PNW. It is supposed to be in the 80s. I have the first load of laundry in the dryer and the second in the washer. I hope to get the remainder of the laundry done and most of the other house chores done between the J*O*B that pays for the house and quilting, so I can have a relaxing weekend.
ReplyDeleteI think I have to hire a cleaning person so I have time to quilt more. I wish everyone a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank You Bonnie for a chance to win such a cute pattern! I am getting my second Covid vax tomorrow. I had absolutely no side effects the first time so I am hoping to repeat that! I hope the same for you! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeletefantastic pattern
ReplyDeleteThat is why I dont watch the news. The media tells you how to think. I cut out what is not good for my health, my sanity, my emotional well being to a simpler life. I highly recommend a free book on Audible called Zen Habits. Lufe changing, one step at a time!
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful and generous giveaway. This is a sparkling pattern with so many possibilities. I got my second shot (Pfizer) on Wednesday and no bad side effects. Hope it's the same for both of you. You can still enjoy a lay low weekend, relaxing, and enjoying all your blessings without any side effects. Take Care
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday everyone, and especially to YOU Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteI am not sewing till maybe this evening. I am volunteering at the Pfizer shot clinic this afternoon and evening. Then I will be home for the next three days. I hope to finish sewing and trimming blocks for my "Trellis " quilt, and more seed starts for the garden and some transplanting, too.
Have a Great weekend everyone!

Where the sun is shining, and it is in the mid 40's during the day. Snow is FINALLY Melting!
Article in local paper suggested hydrating, drink lots of water, before shot #2. Seems to help bypass or lessen any reactions to shot. Good luck. Happy dance time.
ReplyDeleteI absolutly LOVE your quote today.
ReplyDeleteCatching Rainbows is so lovely! I did a big autumn-palette quilt recently (my own block design) where I did what you did - one print and one neutral per block, no repeats. I really like how it turned out. Ooooh!! Catching Rainbows would be super pretty in autumn colors, wouldn't it? Hmmm.....
ReplyDeleteThe vintage diamond quilt behind today's quote is so charming!
Thank you, Bonnie, for the new pattern, and the opportunity of the new fabrics (LOL like I really need more). Good health with the vaccine. Hopefully herd immunity will protect me and all of my allergies.
ReplyDeleteI new pattern! Hurrah!
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful quilt to put on the list ;) Thank you Bonnie
ReplyDeleteThe winner of the Catching Rainbows giveaway will be announced on April 26, my birthday! Sure hope I win; what a great present!
