It’s a beautiful Thursday morning in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest Virginia!
There is just something about the morning light this time of year. A bit softer, coming through the trees at a slightly different angle.
When I left home on Tuesday afternoon I grabbed some goodies with the intension of doing a surprise Gift-Away.
Guess what arrived in my mail while I was gone to Florida?
It’s only September – how can it be time for the November/December issue?!?
At times I wish we could slow the world down, but at this time I’m happy about its early arrival – there are some great things in here that would be wonderful as home décor for yourself or as gifts for holiday giving.
The holidays are coming on like a freight train!
But isn’t this cover quilt inviting?
Holiday Festival by Tricia Patterson!
If you want to jump in on this quilt using your favorite holiday collection of prints, you are going to need some time. Yep! It’s good that this issue arrived on my doorstep in September!
Runners are perfect for gift giving and this one has so many possibilities!
Pam Boswell’s Sledrunner table topper is the perfect setting for your festive feast.
But imagine it in other colors too! What about patriotic?
Oh stinking cute!
Set a cheerful table with CELEBRATE, Jen Daly’s sweet design.
Not just for the holidays, what if you appliqued a name down the center, or happy birthday and it came out for family occasions?
Don’t forget my Addicted to Scraps column!
This month I’m ALSO on the holiday bandwagon in shades of green, red and neutral – half pinwheel, half star, you are going to love making my Peppermint Schnapps blocks from your favorite holiday scraps. These blocks are Essential Triangle Tool and Scrap User's System friendly, and the pattern is found in this issue.
To sweeten the holiday spirit, I’ve thrown in some MORE goodies to the bundle:
Who wants THIS bundle?
Along with 3 great issues I am including a package of Tumbling Blocks foundations from EZ Piecing, a Coloring’ Quilts screen print perfect for coloring with crayons, markers or paints, quilt marking pencils, an add-a-quarter ruler, a stilletto, sewing tool by Annie, and the big bonus – a Start Free-Motion Quilting DVD with Angela Walters!
We need ONE lucky winner – will it be YOU?
I’ll have more fun on the mountain stuff to share with you tomorrow, I hope you’ll join me then!
Quiltville Quote of the Day!
Some folks will never understand you, and that's ok.
It's much better to understand yourself and love yourself just as you are.
Appreciate yourself today!
Thank you for this opportunity to win!
ReplyDeleteHappy Quilt Retreat Thursday. Gotta take my sewing chair. I got my Quiltmaker yesterday. I liked your Peppermine Schnapps block. I saw it at my Utah friends house. Told her she needs your Essential Triangle Tool! The tree skirt is cool too.

ReplyDeleteWow, what a lovely bunch of stuff! And the Quiltmaker people have made a great job, I am surely getting this when I can get my hands on it - might be until November here in Sweden, though.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to read how you enjoy your days off in the new quilt villa! Love, love, love to see all how you decorated it, especially the sewing studio.
The bear you showed us (yesterday?) - I would be terrified! Hope that they will stay at a distance. Maybe you should put a feeder as far away as you can, from the cabin?
Thank you for always being such a great inspiration to me and all other followers. I did not start the leader and ender-project, but when I saw your result (BEAUTIFUL!) I decided to make one to, but I will make it in reds and greens (and lights of course) and hopefully finish it by christmas!
