Hippity Hoppity all the way to quilt class!
It’s spring in Michigan, and though weather can be mightily iffy in March, the weather faeries have been good to us and we have enjoyed beautiful days and mild temperatures!
I love it when students come ready to leave the seriousness of life behind and bring on the laughter and the fun into the room.
Laughter is infectious! Keep that sense of humor!
Yesterday was spent working on Cathedral Stars, featuring 4 patches, half square triangles and tri-recs units which join together in a two block quilt with many bells and whistles. This quilt has become a favorite of many, and I just love teaching it. Each quilt turns out so different, and oh, the color plans the students bring with them. Fabulous!
Purple pieces on a purple featherweight!
Happy cutting and loads of conversation!
Everything is more fun when wearing bunny ears!
Layouts happening on our design floor!
It was a great place to play in Michigan, Pure Michigan!

What a crowd!
Last night’s lecture was a busy affair! I am so impressed with this group and all that they do for their community. They do “lovie quilts” for children, and they also do quilts for hospice, CEITA which are college aged kids that have aged out of the foster system, working their way through college and into their own lives. It’s a great guild with a very active membership and I have had a great time being her and getting to know them.
Beautiful home on Stuart!
We used some of my time here to do a lovely drive by tour of many of the historic houses in Kalamazoo. This one caught my fancy – wouldn’t it be the PERFECT quilt retreat house?
Oh well, a girl can always dream, can’t she?
For those wondering why this blog is late this morning – yesterday was such a long day and we have been going going going. Along with the time change to daylight savings time, everything caught up and I over-slept my alarm this morning! I am finishing this up on my lunch hour to get it posted.

This afternoon after our Pineapple Blossom workshop is over I will be shuttled to my next location, Lansing! Looking forward to a fun few days with the quilters there.
Quiltville Quote of the Day!
Vintage applique quilt shared by Sue in our Traverse City workshops this past weekend. Thanks, Sue!
Your daily quote is so true! Yesterday I was diagnosed with shingles......wait for it.....on my BUM!! After the doc and I quit laughing, he gave me a prescription to help. He was still snickering as I left his office! Glad I made someones day!...
ReplyDeleteOh well, it could be worse!
Bonnie, your workshop was just amazing! Thank you so much. I had a great time. I have followed you for a long time, and you are just better in person than you are in the eworld, and that's saying something, because you are awesome in the eworld. Thanks for everything! Hope you had a safe and enjoyable trip to Lansing. Hope I get to take another workshop from you again someday. I blogged about your class here if you are interested! http://peasinapod.typepad.com/peas-in-a-pod/2016/03/bonnie-hunter-cathedral-stars.html
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I just want to thank you for posting all the pics. I always feel like I'm right there with you. I especially like the pics of the tables and blocks. They give me ideas for new colorways and remind me of what to bring to classes and retreats. Chocolate!
ReplyDeleteOMG....I SO needed to hear your inspirational quote....I have been having such a hard, disappointing, time at work....with people who have been flat out MEAN... And having worked there for over 33 years as an RN in a level II trauma center intensive care....that is saying something...I am used to family/visitors....as you are often meeting them on one of the worst days of their lives, but when your own administration is unkind......woohoo....I lost my sense of humor....and as they say, you either laugh or cry, and I realized I have been crying way too much lately....it's time to rekindle my sense of humor and continue to persevere! Thank you again for the words I needed to hear! After all, it is this career that allows me to have this wonderful "hobby"!
