Okay guys -
A bit of a short post today. I overslept. I need to be at the inn at 10am to start a Spanish Rose workshop with Debbie's Bitter Bees who arrived yesterday afternoon for their retreat.
It feels like being late for the first day of school. Auuuuughhghhghh!
I monkeyed around with layouts, left and right, turning and twisting and this is what I finally came up with:
Click to Play:
But somehow I have two sashings left over?
Better too many than not enough?
Amazed (not not really) at how much things shrink when seam allowances are taken in.
As the sashings and blocks turn, I am not webbing this one. I don't want to get off. I am checking each and every row and piece to make sure that things are turned the right way before I sew the rows together.
I already had to unstitch two of the sashings because they got rotated somehow in th epick up stage.
This is going to take a while!
In case you missed it - this happened and is on-going!
My Waterford PDF pattern is now available in the Quiltville Store with an automatic 25% introductory discount good through 3/31/25.
It was inspired by a tile floor I photographed on my last trip to Ireland, when we took our Craftours group to the Waterford Crystal showroom in Waterford.
Waterford measures 80'' X 80'', but is easily made smaller or larger just by changing the number of blocks.
And yes, there is a Gift-Away!
I'll be drawing for two winners who will each receive a Waterford PDF pattern from me and a Notable Neutrals fabric roll from our friends at Cotton to Quilts
Get your entry in on That Post!
We'll draw for those winners THIS SATURDAY 3/29/25. Whew!
Did you catch this from this post?
My friend Bruce Leonard's newest Hadley Carroll novel Quilt City: Safety Second is joining the line up of other fun quilty mystery titles, continuing the story of Hadley's adventures in Paducah Kentucky.
I'll be giving away 3 copies of Quilt City: Safety Second so head to that post and get your entry in.
I think that catches us up to now.
I would say on most days this fits!
And then I get hit by a wave of Domesticity and need to clean all the things and cook something yummy.
I'm glad that passes quickly!

ABUNDANCE!! Perfect name for this absolutely fabulous quilt!!! 😍🤩🥰
ReplyDeleteABUNDANCE is a perfect name for your quilt...it has everything! Plus it's absolutely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBonnie, you wear me out with all that you do. You are an inspiration to us all! Thank you.
my thoughts exactly!! But, I love it! Can we have an ounce of that energy?! :-)
DeleteI'll bet that will be a heavy quilt! I should start on the tiny HSTs now and be ready for late summer!! I know I have many many bags waiting to be used.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful layout for this gorgeous quilt! I love the center motif and especially love how you alternated the direction of the sawtooth sashing, every other one going in opposite directions. So, I can see how putting this together requires a whole lot of attention. As always, Bonnie, you are awesome!
ReplyDeleteComing up with that quilt's name was a stroke of genius. An abundant life with abundant stories (and scraps). My husband and I are drafting new wills after almost 5 decades together. The worksheet the lawyer gave us to fill in has all sorts of personal and financial questions. The one that made us ROFL was "Do you have a pre-nup agreement?" We hardly needed one...we were barely in our 20's...I had 3 cents to my name and he had 4. Those early years were lean. Income was less than what you could buy a mediocre used car for now. Our first apartment rent was $180 a month, if that gives you a clue. But there was abundant love as we started down life's path together, and we were blessed with abundance as the years went on. I love the wave pattern in your quilt because yes, life's path throws curves. But look at how everything radiates from the center and spreads outward like ripples on a lake. Ever expanding until you can't see the last of what they might touch, just like our lives. Perfect name for that quilt! - From one of your "abundant" readers
ReplyDeleteAbundance is Beautiful! Love how you arranged the center! Jenny
ReplyDeleteBonnie- Abundance is a fitting name for this gorgeous new quilt. You have an abundance of love and patience as well as joy in each of these log cabins and sashings! It is so beautiful and I am so glad you have gotten to the laying out stage as well as sewing it up! Have fun in your workshops. K- lkw2x6-apq@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteMy first thought when you said it had EVERYTHING, was you are naming it Bagel Toppings? It must be time for lunch hahahahahahaa.
ReplyDeleteABSOLUTELY perfect name for it!! I am definetly going for this one. We are getting a good steady soaking of rain, which is much needed! Love it! Happy quilting!
ReplyDeleteAs beautiful as Abundance is, I feel you have done it before, all that work and gorgeous scraps, was expecting something better.
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful quilt, Bonnie! You are so creative and productive!
