Hadley and her staff at the Paducah Pulse newspaper must report on the murder, but a severe ice storm renders investigation impossible when power lines collapse and cell towers freeze. She hunkers with her friends and staff in the Pulse office after the governor issues a shelter-in-place order.
As the mayor, Hadley has her hands full trying to coordinate rescue efforts, organize building repairs, and oversee debris removal.
Then, a building collapses, a family crisis arises, and additional crimes further frazzle her psyche, forcing Hadley to buck up and rally her troops, determined to convict the perpetrators of multiple crimes—all while planning her wedding."
I've long been a fan of Bruce's ability to bring characters to life.
And throw in a quilting theme like a needle and thread running through everything? Perfection!
You can find the entire series HERE.
How can you trust that Bruce GETS quilting? His wife Sedonia is a textile artist and loves to dye her own fabrics. HE gets us.
Even more exciting: Today, March 18 is also the release day for the third audiobook in the series, Quilt City: Measure Once, Cut Twice.
The audiobooks for the first two, Quilt City Murders, and Quilt City: Panic in Paducah, are also available.
The voice of Biz Lyon brings Hadley and her crew to life in the first two audiobooks. She’s truly talented, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the job she’s done.
I do a lot of listening to audiobooks while I drive, or sew.
If you do too, you are going to love the audiobook versions!
Yes, there is a Quilt City cook book -
And even a step away from the quilty genre with a fabulous new series featuring Jack Drake, Private Eye in Hard Exit.

In case you missed it yesterday - this happened and is on-going!
My Waterford PDF pattern is now available in the Quiltville Store with an automatic 25% introductory discount good through 3/31/25.
It was inspired by a tile floor I photographed on my last trip to Ireland, when we took our Craftours group to the Waterford Crystal showroom in Waterford.
Waterford measures 80'' X 80'', but is easily made smaller or larger just by changing the number of blocks.
And yes, there is a Gift-Away!
I'll be drawing for two winners who will each receive a Waterford PDF pattern from me and a Notable Neutrals fabric roll from our friends at Cotton to Quilts
Get your entry in on Yesterday's Post!
We'll draw for those winners on 3/29/25.
And when my reality seems to be at odds, I quilt!
You, too?
Have a terrific Tuesday, everyone!
Love the quote. I feel like I have wandered into a giant "reality" TV show. Which we all know is not really reality, and I don't think they are much of a show. Taking quietly subversive actions to keep myself sane. On a happy note I am going to check out the audio for the books. Love to listen while I sew.
ReplyDeleteI just finished quilt city murders and thoroughly enjoyed it! Looking forward to another good book :-) Thank you, Bonnie for keeping the quilt community in stitches and allowing us to be a part of your life! I hope Dave’s hand is healing well!
ReplyDeleteI feel like I've stepped thru a standing stone to a different universe when I watch what is happening is this world! Anyway - my day will be packing up to go to a retreat - that was supposed to start tomorrow, but with 8-12 inches of snow and blizzard conditions on the way, I and a few others are going tonight. Waterford is beautiful and the book sounds wonderful. Thank you for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI am with you! I'm torn between being fully informed (not word-of-mount-interpretation), and my mental health! The struggle is real.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to know others feel the same way as I do. I want to stay well informed but also want to avoid the sadness/anger that comes when reading & listening to the news. SO thankful for you Bonnie and your blog.
DeleteI'm thinking the same thing, so sad to watch, yet not knowing is worse. Feeling helpless, creating something helps a little, just can't understand why almost half of the country doesn't feel the same. I keep singing "The times they are a-changin'" and pray I am right, or find comfort in humming the song "Blessed Be The Tie That Binds" and think of my quilting friends.
DeleteLast year while watching the TV series "Designated Survivor", I thought some of the White House goings-on seemed a bit far fetched. Hah, little did I know then! At this point, I vote for Tom Kirkman.
DeleteThe first 2 books on audio are available on hoopla which is available through public libraries.
ReplyDeleteThank You!
DeleteI totally love love love! your peepers!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you and above 'anonymous'. My heart is breaking and I think my brain is too!
