And The Quilters Keep Quilting!

I love the photos I can get of "Quilter's Still Life" when sewing stations are left vacant for whatever reason -

Maybe someone is up to go get a snack, or take a shower, or even sneak off for a nap.

These empty seats with all of the details left in plain view of what had been going on when the chair was occupied and the machine was humming.

It doesn't take much to put the pieces together, does it?

And here is the progress on the design wall behind - A Unity quilt and a Bitcoin being used as a Leader/Ender in progress - and I love the colors!

This was a block of the month sampler that is finding its way to completion - up to the borders!

How wonderful is this?!

The alphabet in American Sign Language, embroidered by a mom in the 1990s who has since passed, finally becoming a quilt put together by a daughter who is working through so many memories while she works on it.

Fun thing about the embroidered hands I"m not sure if you can see - but the button on the cuff at the wrist gives the letter of what is being signed.

There are a couple of Indigo Way W.I.Ps being worked on - Even if they don't come fully together because some fabric was left at home, we'll get these pushed closer to finishing, maybe even sewn into rows!

Polish Pottery Inspired colors!

Every day items around your house can inspire a quilt color plan.  In this case it was a collection of Polish Pottery that inspired the palette of green, blue, coral for this springy version of Old Town.

Another station with some Oopsie Daisie as Leaders & Enders on the wall.

What's that on the machine bed? It looks like the sashings to Straits of Mackinac from String Frenzy.

And some  Tulip Time action on the wall here!

Cute fabrics!

Lunch is served!

Or just about ready -

Irene provides lunches and dinners for her retreat groups, and this was absolutely delicious - some French Dip sandwiches with au jus and beautiful berry bowls!

And yes, we were using the "GOOD" china - because we deserve it!

I also have a share from "another" retreat - this one in Flathead Lake, Montana shared by Kelly!

What a beautiful photo op for her Hamilton Gardens finish!  She'll add the borders when she gets home.

But, what a view!  Enjoy your retreat, Kelly!

As for me, I needed to bug out early yesterday to get Hubster Dave to an appointment.  My sewing was minimal. Today won't be much different as *I* have a chiropractor appointment this afternoon before joining Irene's Sewciologists for dinner out on the town.

But it's all going to lead us into the weekend, and that's just fine and dandy with me!

There are a lot of other things happening on the blog right now:

Did you catch this from this post?

My friend Bruce Leonard's newest Hadley Carroll novel Quilt City: Safety Second is joining the line up of other fun quilty mystery titles, continuing the story of Hadley's adventures in Paducah Kentucky.

I'll be giving away 3 copies of Quilt City: Safety Second so head to that post and get your entry in.

In case you missed it - this happened and is on-going!

My Waterford PDF pattern is now available in the Quiltville Store with an automatic 25% introductory discount good through 3/31/25.

It was inspired by a tile floor I photographed on my last trip to Ireland, when we took our Craftours group to the Waterford Crystal showroom in Waterford.

Waterford measures 80'' X 80'', but is easily made smaller or larger just by changing the number of blocks.

And yes, there is a Gift-Away!

I'll be drawing for two winners who will each receive a Waterford PDF pattern from me and a Notable Neutrals fabric roll from our friends at  Cotton to Quilts

Get your entry in on That Post!

We'll draw for those winners on 3/29/25. Whew!

There’s so much to love each day about this blog. Today I am blown away by the embroidered sign language letters. Gorgeous work! Love to that daughter working through her memories.

And the daily quote today is perfect! All my UFOs are patiently waiting in their bags.

  7. It's so inspiring to see all the beautiful projects! Thank you, Bonnie, for sharing the pictures. :-) So sweet of the daughter to finish her Mom's sign language top. Mom spent many hours embroidering. It's lovely!
My Friday and weekend will be finishing up a WIP from 2022 (I hope). I started sewing the blocks together yesterday. Borders were cut already so hopefully I can finish the top to get it out of my "works in piles." :-)
    Happy Friday, Jenny

Love the sign language quilt, all that beautiful embroidery done by her mom, what sweet memories. My granddaughter is taking American sign language for her foreign language in high school and is hoping to be an MD one day specializing in Anesthesiology. Happy Sewing!

  9. Celebrating today as the end of the week for us! Whew!! We made it! I am hoping to get a Tshirt quilt finished for a sweet young lady who has been working on it for quite some time now. I know it will bring a smile to her face. Then it's on to more 9 patches!! :-)
Loving the work coming out of the group this week! I am itching to start my own Indigo Way soon. Hmm... I should cut some pieces to use for L/E's while I work on those 9 patches!! HAHA! Happy sewing!
