I spent my yesterday afternoon sewing more Snail's Trail blocks - will it ever end? (No, I need something like 80 more. Only 80.)
Yesterday morning's rain turned to cold and windy sunshine in the afternoon - the light streaming through the windows of the QPO studio is so wonderful to work by!
Today - more sun - it's cold - but SUNNY! I'll take it. There is a cold wind blowing - hopefully it will start to dry up all of the mud left by the melting of the snow and ice.
Could it be we've turned a weather corner?
I can only hope so!
Quiltville Quote of the Day -
Can you feel it?
That wonderful thing is about to happen!
It's just around the corner if we can hold on just a while longer.
Have a wonderful Tuesday, everyone!
I have loved Jennifer for years!!! She had a jungle line of lizards and birds which I made into a stack n whack quilt for my (then) young nephew. There was nothing he didn't adore about the quilt...I can't wait to see her new line and see about a new quilt for his sister...so sophisticated!
ReplyDeleteOh, YES!! butterflies with a little shimmer. Just saying that makes me think SPRING is Coming!! I have tulips waiting to poke up out of the ground! Thanks for the Heads up that this beautiful fabric is out. Ivy does have Pawsession of those, she dares you to try and take them. Fun Quote this morning.
ReplyDeleteI love the quilt in the background of your quote of the day! Do you know its name? Rose in Southern Oregon
ReplyDeleteIt's a traditional block known as Cracker.
DeleteThanks - I was going to ask the same question :)
DeleteLove, love, LOVE This BLOCK!!!!! Thanks for sharing your talent and knowledge of quilting!
DeleteSame question here. Thanks.
DeleteYour dad has, probably, already told you that Spring seems to be, slowly, but surely, stepping it's toe into the desert. The birds are courting, the bunnies are skittering around, the coyotes are howling just before sunset and the woodpeckers are drumming up a storm - all looking for mates. Feels like a junior high dance ! The skies are clearer, the temps climbing. Even some of the spring blooms are flowering ! All a welcome sight, sound and feel. I'm sure you wish you were here with your Dad, but it will happen soon. Be well.
ReplyDeleteJeanne - I love your descriptions!
Deletespring and the demise of cov19 just around the corner... and what's more? Grassy Creek has reached the assembly point! FINALLY! well, all except for stitching up the strings into a border!!! but that will come AFTER assembly... I'm so excited, just love to see it all come together and miracle of miracle it DOES resemble RESEMBLE the reveal!!! Love, light & laughter, I say, thank you Bonnie and all y'all do what makes your heart sing! Cats in Carlsbad CA

ReplyDeleteFinally got to work some on Grassy Creek yesterday. Everything is cut and sewn and ready to make the blocks. Progress is progress!! Last week we had about 15 inches of snow, today it will be 60+ degrees and my daughter and I are going to Monroe, LA to watch College softball. You never know about what the weather will be - LOL I am entering again for the Quilty Box and always hope I will be the one picked. The butterflies are just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely article about Jennifer and this fabric line. It was very uplifting. Now I just want to make any kind of art with butterflies! My daughter and her husband are healthcare workers and have been vaccinated and my husband just got his first shot. I feel like there is truly hope very close by now.I will be in the next group authorized here in California, hopefully soon. Meanwhile, just keep sewing, just keep sewing...
ReplyDeleteThe vintage quilt w today's quote is SO pretty. Hmmm.... if you don't have this year's L/E challenge block picked yet, could that be a possible candidate?
ReplyDeleteI made the quilt in your Quote of the day background using feedsack fabrics...just by looking at the picture I saw somewhere. I don't know the name of this, so if you do, could you share with me? I gave the quilt to a 95 yr. old lady I provide companionship to a couple times a week. She loves it. I would like to make another one...
ReplyDeleteBonnie identified it as a traditional block called "Cracker". I love it as well!
DeleteCould there be anything more perfect than butterflies that shimmer, that is spring all over, love the fabric, your quotes of the day and you blog.
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous Spring quilt and fabrics. I’d love to win the Quilty Box!
ReplyDeleteBeth Stanfield

ReplyDeleteSuch fun in this box.
ReplyDeleteI love your Snail Trails...I'm inspired to try that pattern.
