Happy Monday, Quiltvillians!
Mondays seem to come faster and faster – here we are again!
I have enjoyed watching my feeds over the past week, last week watching the progress and even finishes of your Good Fortune quilts as they were posted to our last Mystery Monday Link-Up after the reveal. Did you follow along? You can still view them HERE if you missed it. GORGEOUS work, everyone!
The colors, the variations – the border choices, block settings, layouts – the way you take what I have presented and have made it your own makes me SO PROUD!
If you haven’t quite gotten far enough to share your progress yet, don’t worry. Today’s Mystery Monday Link-Up will be open until Thursday evening, January 17th at 11:55pm EASTERN. We will have one final Link-Up the first Monday in February – February 4th. I’ll be recuperating from Japan and teaching in Phoenix at that time, and I look forward to seeing what you have to share then.
If you missed last Friday’s post with our badges, and information on the items with our logo that can be purchased through Zazzle with all proceeds going toward free sewing, quilting, crochet workshops for those in need – click HERE.
Elaine’s colors always send me to gasps of WOW!
Can you see how she has “trip around the word” going on in her quilt center? I love how her colors migrate – beautiful finish! And I just know the quilting is going to be the icing on the cake.
Linda’s beautiful greys!
Border options happening for another Linda!
Beautiful colors, Peggy!
What a great idea, Juli!
She has bordered a large medallion center with her blocks. Beautiful! This kind of sharing is just so wonderful – and sparks so many ideas of where we can go with another project, another border – perhaps using some of these ideas to kick a languishing UFO from ehhhhh to WOW!
Are you ready to share what you’ve been up to this week?
We have many new folks with us this year, so if you’ve never done a link-up before, we will include some info so you can add your photo of your progress to the mix.
You’ll need either a blog, an instagram account, a Pinterest account, a Flickr account or a Google+ account. All of which are free, and a great way of journaling your progress on any project. ALL of these must be set to PUBLIC.
Please, no private accounts as no one will be able to see what you are sharing, so what’s the point? Links to private accounts will be deleted.
No matter where you are in your Good Fortune quilt you can share blocks, design wall photos, fabric choices, completed units with your dog, cat or grand-baby – just share!
Please do NOT post unit sizes or unit counts in your post. This is a mystery. The sizes and counts are plainly available in the mystery directions themselves. Folks can get them by coming to my directions.
Be sure when you are filling in your information in the Linky form below that you include a URL to your specific post or photo, not just your main blog or profile address. We need the address of the page where your photo and post is, not the whole account.
For those who don’t understand HOW to find the URL of any given post PLEASE read this linky tutorial before you link up again.

I'll be checking in to see what has been posted through the day!
I am starting to panic over the fact that I am leaving for Japan on THURSDAY. JAPAN! I will need several pinch me moments to get me through the next several days. It’s a big trip. A far away trip. There will be a group of about 40 of us, and it has been 30 years THIRTY YEARS since I last set foot in Japan. I am beyond excited.
This was the first big travel trip for me that required that very first passport. Travel became an instant NEED on that trip. Like breathing.
When I look back 30 years – that trip was all done with disposable cameras. Remember those? Never knew how the shots would turn out, hoping you captured the moments and the memories correctly, but you wouldn’t find out until you got home, dropped them off at the photomat crossed your fingers and waited.
This time I’ll be seeing Japan through my digital camera and will be able to share my moments immediately through social media. (WiFi pending!)
Okay, there is so much to do over the next three days I better get a move on!

It's all about choices! Choose wisely!
Have a wonderful Monday, everyone!
Also loving all of the finished quilt tops and wishing that my move was over so that I can get back to working on mine! Thank you so much Bonnie for creating such a great community centered around the love of quilting!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Good Fortune quilts!
ReplyDeleteI have two double knit quilts made by my Mother back in the 60's and 70's! They definitely keep the warmth in! LOL
Love your quote today Bonnie - Choose positively before you start.
When you go to Japan, be sure to look for KitKat Bars, which come in a variety of different flavors other than just plain chocolate. You might want to try a few and bring some home!!
ReplyDeleteThey don't make them gluten free.
DeleteWe have KitKats here in South Africa, my favourite one is the Dark chocolate!! Yummy!! And slightly better than milk chocolate apparently!! :)
DeleteWow, It's great to see all of the Finished Mystery Quilts. Mine is still on my living room floor. Ahead of last year, No worries! Thanks for the Link-up.
ReplyDeleteTravel safely to Japan. Loved hearing about you 1st time going while pregnant with your Jeff. Yes Digital is so much more convenient than waiting to see if you got the best shot of what you take a picture of to remember.
your piece about hands brought tears to my eyes as well...
ReplyDeletethank you for sharing all your many talents... Thoughts become things, choose wisely!
WOW!!! All of these beautiful Good Fortune quilts. So much creativity and inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI'm confident you will enjoy your trip as much as I enjoyed your QAL. Your posts, patterns, enthusiasm and energy were just my cup of tea. My 10 year old and I had a magical 9 day trip through Japan this past September and had the best time. Such a wonderful, warm and friendly country. We had lunch in Nara at a restaurant with a beautiful double wedding ring quilt hung on the wall, hand made quilting by the Mom of the restaurant owner. That restaurant also used simple patchwork quilted coasters for the water glasses. We loved it there! Enjoy Bonnie!!
ReplyDelete-deseo que tenga un gran viaje a Japón. Seguiré todo aquello que publiques, es otra forma de viajar. Gracias
ReplyDeleteIt is so amazing seeing all the finishes...the different parts of the quilts that standout...some you see the chain, others the pinwheel, others circular shapes...it’s unbelievable they are all the same pattern!! This has been the coolest one of all! Thanks again Bonnie. And have a great time in Japan!
ReplyDeleteThe only «problem» with digital is that we come home with 1000 +++ photos, rather than 3 spools worth, where at least some didn’t come out right. Makes it a lot harder to choose
ReplyDeleteThe finishes are amazing! These quilters are so inspiring... to do so much sewing and have a FINISH to post is unbelieveable!
ReplyDeleteI decided to wait and see all the different colours that the ladies have used to do their mysteries to get inspired! I am hopeless when it comes to deciding. I did the last one in the colours indicated by Bonnie, but this time wanted something specially for my bedroom!
ReplyDeleteWell thanks to one of the ladies that has done one in the most beautiful blue/aqua I have found my inspiration!!! Now I know which colours to select!! Thanks to all you creative girls out there!!
Enjoyed the extra border from Linda (in picture) and # 14 in group photos. It adds more pop to their color choices!
ReplyDeleteJapan sounds wonderful.Have a great time.
I went and turned two of my green borders the wrong way and have some ripping to do:(
ReplyDeleteFinished my green/blue/white star blocks this morning, no pics but making progress.
ReplyDeleteReally appreciate your efforts, Bonnie! Enjoy your trip to Japan! Looking forward to reading about it and seeing your pics.
