This is a section of the array of 1716 Silk Coverlet interpretations.
Each one so unique – I could spend hours here just looking at the block variations and subtle changes that makes each quilt as individual as its maker - A bit different than its neighbor.
And the truth is, I only had 4 hours at the festival yesterday and my quilt viewing time was cut short – but no worries – today I am back for the whole duration and will catch it all!
Irene had never been to the festival before, or to England for that matter, so seeing things through her eyes is really fun.
We hit the vendor’s mall hard and heavy, each looking for things that NEEDED to come home -
Meeting up with Sue Spargo!
It was a day of hugs and greetings, of quick selfies as we ran into people we knew, and we had the best day!
Stopping by the Schiffer publishing booth for a photo with
Mary Kerr’s book,Southern Quilts!
Quilts and quilts, oh so many quilts!
More time for quilts TODAY!
I found some Double Trouble in the Accuquilt booth!
Stuart Hillard and Ricky Tims – best looking guys at the show!
Passing by the coverlets again….ohhhhhh….
One thing I noticed here is that traditional quilting is still very much alive and well, and it does my heart so much good.
If you had a great day, raise your hands!
That’s everyone!
Some English Paper Piecing on the patio before dinner.
Perfection!
Who wants to do it all again today?
This was our dinner group last night – and the food has been fantastic. I may need more steps on my fitbit to work this all off. Scrumptious!
Tonight is our last night here. Tomorrow we move on down to Stratford Upon Avon and throw ourselves into the land and history of William Shakespeare. The days are already flying by so fast.
Vintage quilt shared by Cathy.
Perspectives change. Things become more clear the longer we live.
Focus on what is truly important today.
For me – no matter how fun the fabric and quilt stuff is – the most important thing are the people. Each and every one. I’m having a great time getting to know this wonderful group that is here to travel with me.
Enjoy your Friday, folks!
Wherever you go there is sure to be be FUN!! I love your sharing with all of us who only dream about places like England. Thanks!!
