In the Air, With Show & Share!

I’m off to Providence, Rhode Island today for a few days of fun with the Ninigret Quilters of Westerly, and the Narragansett Bay Quilters of East Narragansett!

As luck would have it, there was no time to write this blog post ahead of time – I was taking care of book orders late into the evening and packing for this trip.

I decided as I was falling asleep last night that it has been a while since I have done a show & share post of readers quilts that have been sent in, and my little bit of waiting time at the gate this morning will give me just enough time to shoot this up!

Crumb Quilt with geese sashings!

 

I love this, Shelley!  I am ashamed to say that my crumb bars quilt is still in the container.  I need to bring it out and finish it!  I’ve often admired the flying geese sashings, and I finally did a similar sashing for my Wild & Goosey quilt from the Addicted to Scraps Book!  So scrappy and fun!  I love how you have used them to frame your crumb strips.  Great job!

After finishing my Smith Mountain Morning (picture 1) that I started in your workshop in Spokane last year, I had a lot of 2” and 3.5” strips left and went hunting for a pattern to use them up.  In the same book I spied Holy Toledo and recalled that you had done a similar quilt in two colors…

Taking inspiration from these I used up the leftover strips and here is the result(picture 2).  It started out as a leader and ender project last year as I was working on Fair and Square (picture 3), also from your Scraps and Shirttails II book.
