Okay...in the new editor to get this pic up, but THIS is what i see in the old editor...no tool bar to post. No quote, no link, no picture, no bold, no italicize, no center/left/right, no nothing!
The formatting box is weird too..it has no boundaries. There is no "compose" mode or "edit html" mode or tab to click to show that I've changed anything, and yesterday's post went just fine, so does anyone have any ideas on what I've screwed up with here? I really really hate new editor.. I miss the preview page.
Oh, and...I can't get the "post options" at the bottom of the page to collapse, it just stays wide open...what's with that?
I want my old editor back, and yes I am whining! But I'd appreciate it if anyone has any ideas of why my post editor page has gone this way? IS anyone else experiencing this besides me?
I have had this before, I thought it was the operating system I was using (opera) not supporting blogger updates etc. So I used Chrome for a while to do blog posts, cause I had a tool bar there! Then an 'opera' update sorted out to problems and I went back to it. I hate the new editor too, is not intuitive is just a pain.
ReplyDeleteI don't know - I'm sure it's not YOU..
ReplyDeletein the mean time though.. you could use an online HTML previewer .. just for some sort of peace of mind..
here's one that looks bug-free

I use Windows Live Writer to write my blogs. It is a free download, and is very easy and intuitive to use. Once I get my blog the way I like it, I upload to Blogger. Then I only have to preview and tweak it if I need to. I love using this program to write my blogs. If you want to see what I wrote about this, you can check out my blog entry.

Good luck!
I had problems today too. I switched to Blogger in Draft (there was a spot at the bottom of blogger where I could click on that) and the post there worked fine.
ReplyDeleteHey blogger was freaking on me the morning too! I had to rewrite a blog complete with pics because it just disappeared! Two days ago parts of my post kept 'floating' around my blog. Wierd! I use live writer sometimes too and it is easier to format and you have more options of font etc..
ReplyDeleteYou all have been blogging much longer than I but my editor is the old one. (I am using IE)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you have tried, but I went to the dashboard and then clicked "edit post" and choose to create a new post. Sorry, DebB
I have no idea......
ReplyDeleteObvious question - you did turn off your computer and turn it back on???
Sorry...
Go go your blogger dashboard and click on Settings, then Basic. Scroll down to global settings and be sure that the "hide compose mode" is NOT checked.
ReplyDeleteI do not like blogger and use wordpress for my quilting blog - so many more options for blogs I think. I also post to the Star Crazy blog that uses blogger and have never gotten used to it and can never do things how I want. As soon as that project is finished I will be done with blogger and good riddance to it.

I'm sorry I am not going to be much help. Not having your problems with blogger at the moment. I wonder what is going on because you're not the only one having issues.
ReplyDeleteI use Internet Explorer.. and when I go to blogger I don't see it the way you are. It is the way it always was.. on the brown bar above where you type all of the regular choices are still there for me. Gosh I hope they stay, cuz I'm still figuring things out.
ReplyDeleteI use Internet Explorer, and I have still got my toolbar. However, I prefer the Windows Live Writer. It is so much more user friendly, and allows me to do things MY way. Sorry to read about your problems, and sorry I don't have the skills to help out. I do hope you find a solution to your troubles.
ReplyDeleteWhat browser are you using and have you tried a different one? I am using Firefox and my blogger hasn't given me any troubles.....
ReplyDeleteYou might try logging out of Blogger than logging back in. If you use Norton, you also might go to the run Scans menu, click "", and under PC Tuneup have it remove Interner Explorer Temporary Files and Window Temporary Files. Sometimes that will help.
ReplyDeleteThere must be something with the system, as I just tried to logon to update my blog, and it tells me that the service is unavailable.
ReplyDeleteI use IE and have no problems with Blogger - there was a glitch the week before Thanksgiving, but they announced on the 22nd that it was fixed.
ReplyDeleteSometimes when I'm in "Preview" I forget that I have to close it before I can go back and edit, but that's a 'user' issue! lol
I did not try to post today, but hope it's not going to start causing problems... I have 3 blogs all on blogger and would hate to have to change them all!
I just checked and mine is ok. Sorry, I couldn't see how that line could be turned off so I don't know how to get it back.
ReplyDeleteAs someelse wrote bevor, I use Windows Live Writer and I am very happy with it. You can prepare your posting and send it later on. You can add pictures and lots of other things, just with a mouse-click.
ReplyDeleteAnd it is easy, if you have more then one blog (I have one for quilting, one for cooking, one for my ill dog and one for vacancies).
I also use Windows Live Writer and find it much more accurate. I just checked the Blogger editor on Chrome, and mine doesn't look like yours. I like Live Writer better, as where you put pictures is where they STAY. I find the Blogger editor to be very inaccurate. Pictures don't stay where you put them. Text changes size. Icky!
ReplyDeleteI know you have switched ot using Windows Live Writer--a log of bloggers love it. But you might try clearing your cache to get rid of whatever glitch is causing it to display like that. I have never seen anything like this, though I may have had it described to me by someone who wasn't astute enough to do a screenshot. I do quite a bit of peer support on the Blogger Help Forum, but I don't mess with the techy code stuff. Clearing cache is often the first step in solving weird problems.
ReplyDeleteI had the same issue. If you look to the right of your screen it says edit html then there is another tab that says compose. Click on compose and it should be the same old way.
