If I look a bit hot and sweaty - I am.
A mere 45 minute drive away, 'down mountain" as we call it sits Wilkesboro, NC, and it's neighboring city of NORTH Wilkesboro, NC.
We made plans more than 6 weeks ago to attend the summer concert series which fell this past Saturday evening.
We couldn't have asked for a better evening - maybe a bit more breeze, but it was perfect!
Concerts on the Deck -
What is "The Deck?" It's the local farmers market area turned into concert venue - just bring your own chairs, a cold beverage and enjoy!
The first act was Presley Barker who is a Wilkes County local - accompanied by his 15 year old brother. Fantastic. We loved them in Jefferson in July, and that is why we decided to make this pilgrimage down mountain.
BTW - it was 12 degrees cooler up where we live than down here and in August that makes a big difference.
From where we sat -
Our concert companions, John & Cindy.
These photos were taken early in the evening - as more and more folks brought in chairs and coolers - in the back corner there are food trucks with all kinds of goodies. Such a fun night!
Even if it was a bit hot until the sun went down.
The second group was an Alabama cover band - and there were folks up couple dancing, line dancing, just having a great time.
There is another in September, but it happens while I'll be in Kenya - so we will definitely look forward to doing more of this next summer.
Meanwhile, back at the inn -
The quilters are quilting!
Red/white triangles being arranged -
Strippy tops are being completed.
Halloween is happening!
Over under and through!

Wedding quilt tops are in the done column!

Lap quilt from 3 yard quilts.
Nextdoor at the QPO Studio -
I'm still digging and sorting and finding pieces wide enough.
I eventually gave up on being gentle with the whole digging thing and dumped it over. LOL!
This is for the tile floor inspired project I talked about in Saturday's Post.
There isn't a lot else I can share right now - I've just been making units, units, more units -
And I don't think this is going to really make a dent in those 2 big tubs of grey strings, but I like where this is going.
So I will continue!
Tula wants to know if I'm making this quilt to coordinate with her pose on the front steps.
Could be, Tula, could be!
And guess who is back to quilting hoop evenings?
Today is the last full day for the August Quiltvillians 2.0 so we have group photos in store for this morning, and over-the-porch-rail and all other wrap up activities this afternoon.
This whole last week has just flown by - It feels like the time I lost while under anesthesia for my colonoscopy seemed to take more than just a few minutes out of my consiousness. Where did the time go?
The pattern release of Eclipsed has been absolutely phenomenal! Thank you!
The one thing I've had emails on is folks outside of the USA having trouble with the Buy Now button as it uses autofill and as they are international, they then get a message saying that we don't ship outside of the USA.
PDF patterns are not shipped. There is no problem if you simply add the item to the shopping cart, then click to the shopping cart and choose either your PayPal or Credit Card option. It should process just fine from there. It has something to do with purchasing digital files with the BUY NOW button if you are international.
Do not use the Buy Now button. Add the item to your cart and then click the cart and check out the normal way.
Sorry for the headache - but give this a try and see if it works for you.
Also - if you've downloaded and can't find where your PDF went on your device - do a SEARCH by pattern name. Most of my issues come from iPhone/iPad users who don't know where to look.
How to find a PDF on an iPhone in Files.
The broadest place to look for your PDF is in the Files app. You’ll be able to find it there if it’s on your iPhone.
- Open the Files app.
- Tap Browse > On My iPhone.
- Search your folders for the PDF.
It’s very likely that the PDF ended up in the Downloads folder, so search there first.
How to search for PDF files on an iPhone.
Using the search function on your iPhone might be one of the simplest ways to find the PDF that you’ve downloaded. Here are the steps for using the search function:
- Swipe down to find the search field.
- Enter the name of the PDF into the search field.
- Tap Show More to scroll further through searches.
I really hope this helps!

Or more like I show them the stash I've carefully curated over the past 40 years.
Fabric = Happiness!
Happy Monday, folks!

ReplyDeleteWow, such creativity in the sewing sections..love the Halloween quilt coming together.
I didn't start anything yesterday just cooked that's all.
I Agree, this week flew by.
Have a Sparkling day
Blessings 🙏💞
My days/weeks just fly by also! I sure don't recall that they went by this fast when I was working 8-5 every day. :-) I'm always amazed and inspired when I see what quilters are working on at the Inn. Nice job everyone! Thanks for the inspiration, Bonnie, and glad you had fun with friends at the concert. Happy Monday everyone, Jenny
ReplyDeletewhat a fun weekend for all! so eager to see the "floor tile" quilt!!!
ReplyDeleteLove that you are using some of the grays that we shared. The combo with yellow is calming. And hsts are so versa-tile, lol. Have fun with it. I look at tiles when I travel. I don't go as far as you. A concert at the Fair is coming up. Can hardly wait to hear Martina McBride. Amzing how happy Fabric fondling makes me! Trying to use it all. My Stash is over 40 years old too. I have some of my mother's Stash. It's for special quilys.
ReplyDeleteFor fun things to do for summer memories, local stuff cant be beat. Good for you to get out and enjoy the ending days of summer. Love the quilts you are sharing and the things I always learn reading your blog. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteOh, that looked like a fun evening. It looks like the thread has been burning up over the weekend! Loving the Halloween projects, though not much a fan of the holiday itself! Tula has really made herself at home on the porch, & I love it when she makes an appearance in the post! Have a great evening... we're going over to my Dad's to celebrate his birthday he had while out on his travels! Hopefully I can get back to sewing this weekend. Happy quilting!
