Making Our Own Sunshine!

We are growing moss between our toes.  It has rained ALL weekend.

So much so that yesterday's gentle rain - no wind, no thunder, no storm - fell continually and kept temps no higher than 65 degrees all day.

Judy's Stitchers hail from as deep south as Alabama and Mississippi, so we dubbed yesterday "The day we will remember in the heat of August."

It didn't stop meals on the porch.  It was perfectly heavenly for long afternoon naps with the sound of the rain tapping on the metal roof above the rafters.

And the quilting continued on and on -

We all cheered as the last Castle Wall block was made!

We watched Wonky Wishes blocks being set together -

With delightful string sashings!

Oh, such fun fabrics!

This wall of Ruby Jubilee was growing cross the room -

From THIS version.  They are both so beautiful!

Can anyone guess what is going on here?

I spy a bit of  Grassy Creek happening!

The leftovers from Bricks & Stepping Stones (Free Patterns tab) are being made into Triple Treat blocks as Leaders & Enders! It's a two-for-one and so much fun!

What a lovely weekend spent in good company!

I've drawn for the winner of our July/Aug '22 Quiltmaker Gift-Away!

We are looking for entry 3759 out of 3925 entries!

Pat Hammitt!  Congrats!

Pat, please reply to the email I sent you notifying you of your win.  As soon as I have your mailing address I'll get your issue right out to you.

For everyone else - check your local newsstands or find a digital copy HERE.

Fresh lavender, cut by my friend Martha.

Martha made a drop-by on Saturday after visiting a local Lavender farm where she gathered up some bundles for herself, for family, and for me!  Isn't that sweet?

The QPO studio smells heavenly.

We've got plans for her to bring her finished Frolic top on by so we can quilt it up - or at least start on the quilting part.

The rain is holding off for now, and first thing this morning the Over the Porch Rail photo taking session will happen along with group photos.  Some of Judy's Stitchers are heading out this afternoon and we need to gather everyone together and get it done without a downpour.

While Martha is quilting away, I've got a few desk days ahead of me to get Friday's pattern release ready. I'm so excited and can't wait for this reveal!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and you feel happily rested and ready to tackle this week ahead.

I fini Pineapple blossom yesterday.. all quilted and bound. It's for the car. We're going on vacation soon so I thought I would get it done.

  5. I agree Helen, I'm in Godley Texas where our temps are 105 lately... plus burn bans since before 4th of July (no fireworks allowed) & water rationing for the County - I'd love to have a day or two or three of rain!

  7. Tell the MS and AL gals it's raining here too. I live just over the line in FL and they are calling for rain all week. We have a front stalled over the top of us. Good excuse for not working in the yard and quilting. Polly in Pensacola
