Kismet PDF Pattern Gift-Away!

Good Morning, Quiltvillians!

Here we are, smack dab in the middle of July - summer heat and all - and I think it's time to beat that heat with something COOL!

Where did all of my little Fish School Leader & Ender units end up?

Let me tell you - when two of my favorite units of all time - triangles and string blocks - end up together, it's Kismet!

It started with me counting and pinning triangle units in sets of 10, and putting them in a basket to the side of my machine -

Next to that basket was ANOTHER basket of string blocks left from various projects - and these units happened to be the same size!

Before I knew it, these little units turned into blocks.

Lola approved! LOL!

It doesn't get much happier than this!

Kismet is quilted with a sand colored thread in an edge to edge design called Random Clams by Jessica Schick.

What's not to love about Kismet?

I had enough units left over to make a 42''  wall hanging size!

(Little Kismet is sure cute!)

I'm super excited about this one - because it is so adjustable.  Make the number of blocks you want to get the size quilt you need.

The Best of Both Worlds!

What happens when you combine traditional triangle units with improv inspired string blocks? Kismet, that’s what!

Quilt Sizes: Full: 78’’X 78’’ Wall: 42’’X 42’’

Optional but helpful: Bonnie K. Hunter's Essential Triangle ToolCarol Doak Foundation Paper

Traditional rotary cutting methods are given for those who don't have access to this ruler.

The introductory price for Kismet has been marked 25% off through 7/31/22 - no coupon needed! It's available in both the Quiltville Store and Quiltville Etsy Pattern Shop

And since we are at it:

I've marked Nearly Lemoyne at 25% off as well - just because!

(Also available in the Quiltville Etsy Pattern Shop.)

And we are also celebrating with a Gift-Away!

I'll be drawing for 2 winners who will receive BOTH the Kismet & Nearly Lemoyne patterns and:

A Kaleidoscope fabric roll from  Cotton to Quilts!

This is a Gift-Away bundle you don't want to miss - and you've got to be in it to win it!

We'll draw for our winners on Wednesday 7/27/22.

Good luck everyone!

Out on a road hike with the Pieceful Hearts gals of N. Augusta SC!

I'm having a great time - the weather is wonderful and today we are headed up with the dogs to go find the wild ponies along the Appalachian Trail at Grayson Highlands -

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Sometimes a complete 24 hour media free unplugging is needed.
No social media for 24 hours. Could you do it? I didn't think I could, but I did.
And then I did it again.
And for more than a year now I've been taking one day a week as "media free." ⁣
It has been the most healthy choice I could have made. No regrets!
The internet will still be there when you come back refreshed and a bit more level headed.
Go on. Allow yourself a break. Repeat as needed!

  1. Absolutely love kismet! What a fun quilt! Thank you, Bonnie, for sharing with us. Currently I'm still unpacking from a move across country. The sewing room isn't put together yet so I'm quilting up a bunch of tops I finished before the move, most of them your patterns. I have 4 more patterns pulled so when I'm organized or at least able to have thread, machine and rotary cutter in one place, I can work on more. Hope you saw lots of ponies!

  2. yes, yes, yes... media free! not social, or facebook free... but i no longer take the newspaper !!! nor do i watch much news on TV!!! I don't trust what most of them have to say and it's all negative, none of which i can "fix" or have control over in any way... fondling fabric, playing with colors and shapes, following Bonnie Hunter and keeping in touch with loved ones! keeps me on a more or less even keel, and much happier and more content... follow your creative child! Prayers and blessings to all for help, guidance and peace. Cats in Carlsbad CA

  9. Love nearly Lemoyne pattern.
Media free sounds divine no phone or Computer. I say yes to that.
Because I can't make a decision on which quilt to make, I started embroidering a Tablecloth!

  10. I love this new pattern! I love teal, and I've made Straits of Mackinac and several other quilts in all teals. I think I'll finish off my current scrappy fish blocks as a baby quilt using "Little Kismet" as inspiration, then move on to King Size Kismet using all teals and whites! Thanks for the inspiration, Bonnie!
