More Fun with Susan's Retreat Friends!

All too often, retreats come to a close all too quickly.

Before I know it folks are picking up projects, having reached a good stopping point on the last full day, and the gathering, organizing and the packing up of vehicles begins.

It's bittersweet!

Never the less we filled our weekend to the brim with as much quilty fun as any group could muster.

We were trying to beat the rain, and ward off the cold!

Pineapple Blossom (Free Patterns tab) a fun but unknown log cabin variation, and Narragansett Blues from MORE Adventures with Leaders & Enders

four patriotic tops made during retreat for Quilts of valor -

An improv heart - I loved watching this one come together!

A fun scrappy in Kaffe type fabrics -

And a lovely tumbler!

Scrappy Yellow Brick Road (I think?)

Texas Tumbleweeds from MORE Adventures with Leaders & Enders.

An awesome postage stamp medallion.

A gorgeous house sampler!

And Allietare !

And there was more on the design walls!

Easy Street also from MORE Adventures With Leaders & Enders.

And a gaggle of Rhododendron Trail blocks!

The sewing continued all weekend long -

With intermittent breaks to keep up with the basketball game!

And there was time for this too.  Click to Play:

Go Terri, Go! I love getting the gals to give treadling a try.  Yes, it takes a bit of practice, but just like learning to ride a bike, once you know, you can't forget!

Everyone was gone by 10am yesterday morning and I was in full laundry mode.

At least until early afternoon when I just needed lunch and a nap in that order.  I'll pick up today where I left off yesterday - the March Quiltvillians are arriving on Wednesday!

And it was snowing.  Not enough to stick, but the big heavy flakes were sure beautiful.

Nice try though, winter - you are one foot out the door and I can't want for spring.

We saw daffodils just about to bloom in the yard.  That's such a good sign!

There was some more of this while waiting to change loads from washer to dryer.

I'm at 17 currently.

I'm aiming either for 25 or 36.

Either way there is no shortage of blue or yellow strings, so I may as well keep going.

Another thing I failed to notice (Because I didn't get the sale memo!)

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Brian Andreas wrote " I once had a garden filled with flowers that grew only on dark thoughts. But they need constant attention. And one day I decided I had better things to do."
Cultivate happy thoughts today!

Continued prayers for the people of Ukraine.

  1. FYI - Register early and save $10 with code: WANDER10 – expires 4/8/22. / tried to use Code and this was response - “Sorry, it is not possible to apply coupon "wander10" as you already have a discount applied in cart.” just wanted to let readers know they may have the same difficulty. The writing about using code is confusing. So I plan to register but will not worry about registering by today. Online Class looks awesome! And will be a fun watch! Thanks for letting us know about your Online Class, love following your Blog and the fur babies!

    2. The price for the class is half (50%) off if you register today. If you wait until tomorrow you can use your $10 code to save $10 off the regular price. Today Feb. 28th price is $30.00 if you wait to use the $10 off code the price will be $49.00. The class is regularly priced $59.00. Seems plain enough to me just as written.

  3. Good Monday! Our Neighbors are making noise early this morning, taking out an old driveway. had to get up and at 'em in the other side of the House where I can't hear as much. March winds are coming, bring more Rainy days. Rain makes the flowers grow. Waiting for Spring! My Tulips are staying warm in the garden beds for now. Pretty Quilts off the Porch today. 4. Just wanted to say thank you for the info on the dog dish for slow feeding. Price was fantastic and it arrived in a couple days. We actually finished our last two meals before the dog finished his meals. That is a first in this house!

  8. I just signed up for the course! It was still 50% off toda, March 1. I am so excited. I will probably never have a chance to attend a Bonnie Hunter class in person, so this will be fun. I've followed the blog for so many years.
