We were making the best use of the threatening cloud cover as it is so helpful in getting good photos without shadow or glare.
Betsy's memory quilt -
What you can't see is that there is a story to every block and patch in this quilt, and those stories and memories are carried out into the quilt - blocks contain the names of loved ones who have passed on, and also words of encouragement and other things that mean a lot to Betsy.
It's one you have to get up close and personal with to really appreciate all that went into it.

Carolina Crossroads from Scraps & Shirttails!
Siobhan started this when Carolina Crossroads was our VERY FIRST EVER Quiltville Mystery. That was some time between 2003 and 2008. LOL!
Guess what got its borders this week? GREAT FINISH!
I know how hard it is to pull those older things out and find the push to finish them. Now to get it quilted and bound!
There were a couple of other finishes that weren't hung over the rail -
Chunky Churn Dash is found under the Free Patterns Tab. All that needed to be done was some hand stitching of the binding, which was completed in an evening. A feel good finish!
Siobhan also finished this adorable house top for her niece!
Such a happy quilt with so many "I spy" things to discover. I love the scrappy checked border - all from 2 1/2'' squares. Perfect!
Lovely plaid bear's paw!
Recycled shirts were used in this one, and it is a great size for snuggling up to read a book in a favorite chair.
It was a great visit!

Everyone was on the road by 10 am - including me who headed toward Winston-Salem for that dermatologist appointment.
Today I am so grateful for my dermatologist. Sounds crazy right?
I missed my appointment last year due to Covid which was a follow-up appointment for a Mohs surgery I had the year prior.
I have been bothered by some growths along my hairline and after the previous basal cell episode I was afraid I'd be coming home with a bunch of frozen off spots at best - and another scheduled surgery at worst.
But even better. All is normal and nothing is cancerous!
If you are like me and behind on your self care - don't put it off. You're peace of mind is worth it!
Next up - Eye doc appointment early August to get me sorted in that department too, and then I believe I'll be on schedule with everything.

We are just about ready for our next retreat group arriving this afternoon. Chris's group is Christmas in July, and they have many fun activities planned, including a Winter Blues workshop that we will be spreading out over the course of several days (instead of 6 hours in one day!) so everyone has a chance to really make some good progress.
It promises to be a fun time!
