Quiltmaker May/June ‘17 Drawing Time!

Hello from Birmingham, Alabama!

I returned just a bit ago from a LONG day out – but such a fun one.

A morning guild presentation, lunch out with the guild ladies, and an afternoon of antiquing (We stayed so long, the mall was closing for the day around us!) and ice cream at DQ sitting on tables outside and enjoying the beautiful April evening air.

What a day!

And it was only on a whim that I remembered that it was time to do this drawing.

So let’s not delay any longer and  get this done!

Can you believe we had a record high of 5119 entries?  Wowza!

And there can only be one winner, so let’s find out who it is.

Scenes from our guild presentation!

There was loads of gorgeous show & share!

4 quilters on the antique mall trail!

The Swift’s tin did NOT come home with m e, but the items in the upper right corner did!  More on those later.  The quilts were inspiring, but they stayed behind.  My arm was greatly twisted to purchase the mid-century maple bedside table –and I caved!  it is just too cute and is perfect for the smallest guest room at the cabin.

Now you know why I drove instead of flew!  I needed a way to carry home the loot!

(Plus the fact that too many flights ended up being cancelled on Wednesday due to storms and it is a good thing I chose to drive or I wouldn’t have made Thursday’s workshop and lecture at all!)

This girl is pooped.  I may sew.  I may just crawl into bed and call it a day and start over tomorrow with your Talking Turkey workshop.

Have a great evening, everyone!

  6. Congrats to Catherine. I am curious about the items that ARE going home with you in the photo. One looks like a pyrex or corelle percolator, and the tins are intriguing.
    Thanks for the fun post.

  8. I can see an extra quilt tucked into the bottom of that bedside table! What a great find. So glad you had time for a shop.

  9. Hi, Bonnie. About those items that went home with you -- I am on a constant search for those footed glasses in any colors. They are a rare find in Phoenix. I might have to travel a bit easterly after seeing three all at once!

Also, I use my Corning coffee pot every day and I love it. Just be aware that style was recalled because the adhesive used to attach the metal top to the pot has been known to fail after repeated heating and cooling so a whole pot of hot coffee can just drop out from that ring. The new improved design was ceramic all the way to the pour spout and the decorative metal band was just used to attach the handle. Just a head's up to keep a hand under the pot as you carry and pour from it.

I love seeing all the happy quilters and quilts from your classes. Safe travels!

  10. Congratulations Catherine on the Great Give A way!

Happy Easter Everyone! I Know I am late reading this post, but have had a busy week!

After seeing all the lovely posts from the Show and share, I really want to sew, but there is no time, with all my other spring responsibilities.
