Quiltmaker Gift-Away!

QM_May_June2017
Good Morning from Birmingham, Alabama!

It was a crazy hairy stormy scary 9 hour drive yesterday, white knuckling the steering wheel all the way.

I was in touch with my contact Shirley over the course of the day.  She was keeping tabs on where I was, and even told when a storm cell was headed my way and when I should get off the road and wait it out.

I made it by dinner time!

And to celebrate my safe arrival, I have planned a Quiltmaker May/June 2017 Bundle GIFT AWAY just for you!

These Quiltmaker issuses just get better and better with more and more information.

I love that Quiltmaker doesn't just give you a pattern, the articles and tutorials actually teach us skills that we can apply to any quilt we want to make in the future.

So what have we got up for grabs today?

This month's Addicted to Scrap Column Block!

SO much fun to make this one!

Of course, this came right out of the Scrap User's System and made extra easy with the Essential Triangle Tool.

Instructions to make the Take a Spin block can be found in my Addicted to Scraps column in the May/June '17 issue of Quiltmaker.

Ninety blocks set in 10 rows of 9 blocks makes a wonderful 67.5" x 75" throw quilt (as shown). LOVE the idea of a black background!

I've got one copy for one lucky winner, and I've added some other goodies to the pot:

I'm off to meet with the Birmingham quilters for today's Roll Roll Cotton Boll workshop.  I just know it will be a ton of fun, and we will follow it up with a guild presentation tonight.  It's a double duty day, and after having 3 weeks home, I'm ready to be back at it.

  4. Praise God you made it safely! I was holed up in our home (no basement) in IL and it was scary up here! I was also keeping tabs on you via IG knowing you arrived safely, a friend visiting GA was safe, and friends up here along its path were also safe! One of the reasons I like IG....we all care so much, even though we haven't met in person most times.
Have a safe and happy time while you are there! Your 8 blocks last night before bed were awesome! ❤❤

  18. So glad you made it safely. Working on a Storm at Sea and got so much help with angles from Quilt illegal fb. I washed and ironed reds and blues with color catcher since lots of fabric from 90's. Cutting first after a practice block. So much fun! Glad to be here. Will post when finished.

  21. So glad you survived all the storms. Watched them progress much of the day from the TV weather, and wondered if you got to play at all on the way as you planned. I doubted it as the storms seemed too savage for that.
Had a root canal, my first, early in the day, so TV weather was my entertainment for the majority of the day. Wanted to sew or at least cut squares, but just didn't happen.

Thanks for the chance to win all the goodies. I will hope for the best.
Have fun at all the retreats & guilds and all the other fun stuff you do.
