Prettige Kerstdagen en een Gelukkig NieuwJaar!

It's Christmas Eve....and I don't know where the time went!

It's the body clock thing again!

This pic is of Lucy's lovely Christmas Tree. It was so fun to help her decorate it. She tells me they always have a "REAL" tree. NOTHING smells as good as a real tree, and I agree. However..in my house...it's the fake tree. *sigh* Oh well, at least I did get it UP this year, and I didn't have to do it by myself, so I am counting my blessings!

I got home monday night around midnight...just zonked. I don't remember much of yesterday (tuesday) But it included sleeping in, a late breakfast, groceries for Christmas and getting ready for company to arrive last night.

Dave's Boise State team was playing in the Poinsettia bowl, and he had a bunch of work buddies over to watch it and play poker. It was fun...he decorated with blue and orange balloons and streamers...which are coming down TODAY! Boise lost by 1 point. Sad sad Broncos :c(

Come 1am...I was so wide awake....stupid body clock!

Jason and Kim are here and they brought along their friend Matt who had no where to go for Christmas. This will be nice.

The Big Christmas for us this year.... is getting a new heating and air system installed in the house...TODAY! I can't believe they are doing it TODAY,but that is where we fit on their calendar. Our old system is just that...OLD...and the bills were so expensive....this new unit will pay for itself and do a better job just in the money we save.

So I'm typing from my studio room, which has it's own wood stove. The rest of the house might get a bit cold today, so I'm sure I'll have company joining me in here shortly.

I've uploaded the pics from the workshops into the following slide show!

Workshops in Haarlem, NL 2008

I'll upload more when this hubbub is over :c)

Have a wonderful Christmas, a warm Hanukkah, enjoy the chaos, embrace the craziness of the season, take some stitches when you can to calm your soul....

Much love to you all!

  1. I was so worried about your arrival in Detroit with all the bad weather we have been experiencing in the Midwest. I can now relax about/for you.
I hear you about the chaos.
Mine will start here around 2:00 p.m.
Happy Holidays to all you quilters in the world.
    XOXOXOXO Subee

Merry Christmas to you!! OMG how wild to see Lucy's tree! It really brought back memories of our very first Christmas in The Netherlands back in 1989. We went out for a real tree. Keep in mind we are from Northern California originally....we came home with what looked more like a tumbleweed compared to what we were used to. THEN...watched your video clip and right away noticed all those PFAFF sewing machines! I worked for PFAFF while living overseas and it is the machine of choice there. Great posting....plenty of memories for me!

  6. Merry Christmas!! Glad you made it home safely with all the crazy weather we're having all over the country. 6" of snow in Malibu for crying out loud.

I noticed all the Pfaff machines at the Netherlands workshop. Is that what the quilters use over there or did the store supply them for the workshop? I have an older Pfaff 7550 and love it. When it dies I'll have to find another Pfaff even though the closest dealer is a couple hours away.

  12. Merry Christmas Bonnie! Your blog and your quilting have been a wonderful inspiration to me this past year. I learned to haunt thrift shops for cotton plaid shirts for one thing! I know you had a great time on your trip, but it's good to know you are home safe and sound. Stay warm and have a great day tomorrow with family!

  14. Lovely post ~ what a marvelous adventure you had! We had our A/C units and furnaces replaced a year ago and WHAT a difference it has made (comfort AND cost)... you'll be so glad yours is updated.

Off to my quilt studio to stitch for an hour or so ... absolutely need my fabric time this afternoon!

Blessings to you and yours for all you are and all you do to inspire the rest of us!!

  17. I just looked thur this post again today... and I have to post again to say - I love Lucy's tree!

This is what a "REAL" tree should look like.. one that is REALLY alive, not the kind you see at the grocery or Walmart that are piled up on top of each other and dying!

We've never had a real tree since we've been married.. but in years to come I hope to and when we do - I want it to be a "real" tree like this one - one that can be planed after we are done with it.. and then decrated outside in years to come!

Please tell Lucy I love her Christmas tree. So pretty! :) ~bonnie
