The May Quiltvillians & More!

There is a lot of creative expression happening at Quiltville Inn this weekend with the May Quiltvillians in residence!

It's wonderful to see their abundant creativity taking shape in so many different projects -

Of course, there has been  some quilt shop hopping happening, and new fabrics, tools, notions and patterns to add to the mix.

I LOVE seeing what comes out of shopping bags when they return from "town."

Now I need a trip to town, too!

Ditch Lilies is well underway -

The alternate chain blocks are in progress now -

I love that line green batik!

There is some machine quilting happening on this small project.

Jaob's Ladder variation going up on this design wall!

It's the perfect size for a baby quilt, and took one charm pack and some background. Not sure if a constant yardage was used as the "chains" but it sure is a cutie!

The center is a panel -

The border is being added cut from yardage.

SO CUTE!

I spy something very summery happening here!

Warm Hands, Warm Heart and Twiga on the design wall!

Happy Sunflowers - from the 3 yard quilt book.

Isn't this tbe bee's knees?

(Fat Quarter Shop box)

Lovely florals!

I spy a Ruby Jubilee happening in Aqua/Teal!

I love the magic of hands pairing fabrics through the machine -

When you see what this becomes it will blow your mind!

(Stay tuned - I hope she finishes it while here!)

There has been a lot of cutting happening here -

Turning into Lazy Sunday blocks from  MORE Adventures With Leaders & Enders.

Meanwhile - in my own zone -

My red/white/blue Jacob's Ladder variation blocks are ready for sashings!  Whoop whoop!~

It felt good to sew blocks with larger pieces and see them come together quickly.

I loved using the blue plaids, stripes and prints from recycled shirts mixed with my own neutrals and reds.

Next up - sashings!

I have plans to pull neutral shirts into the mix - which will involve a lot of shirt deconstruction.  We'll see how far I get over the weekend.  Today we are heading down to Jonesville for Casden's baseball game. (Go, Knights!) So we will see!

And for those still asking -

Tula is still here, soaking up all the loves the ladies have to offer (and likely too many treats, but who's counting?)

She loves the door mat by the kitchen door - though she is often found on the wicker chairs on the side porch.  I've covered the cushions with old towels so if someone wants to sit there they can move her furry towel aside.

Needless to say, she rules the porch and has captured everyone's hearts.

Thank you, everyone for such a great response to yesterday's PDF pattern release!  The Gift-Away already has over 2,000 entries!

I love that you are as excited about the Right Way Round pattern duo as I am.

The pattern contains BOTH variations, and you can make either of them in either size -

Pattern details:

What do you get when you accidently make more than 1/2 of the main block wrong? A second quilt! Both versions are presented in sparkling patriotic colors of red/white/blue accented with black. Full color photos, graphics and extensive instruction included!

Quilt Sizes: Large: 80’’ X 88’’ Small: 53’’ X 53’’

Optional but helpful: Bonnie K. Hunter's Essential Triangle Tool and either the Simple folded Corners ruler, or the Simple Folded Corners Mini.

Traditional rotary cutting methods and foundation paper-piecing options are given for those who don't have access to these rulers.

So yes - if you prefer to paper-piece square-in-a-square units, we've got you covered there too with a printable page for paper-piecing.

Introductory pricing:  The price marked is already 30% off and the sale is good through 5/30/23.  I leave for Cairo on the 31st, so I'll need to button that up before I go.  So hurry now and save before you miss it - no coupon needed.

You'll find the pattern for Right Way Round in both the Quiltville Store and the Quiltville Etsy Pattern Shop.

Enter the gift-away HERE. Drawing happens 5/30/23!

I'll be drawing for two winners who will each receive the PDF pattern containing both Right Way and Wrong Way Round from me - and even more:

One winner will receive a Facets of Black Color Roll, and the other will receive a Facets of Red Color Roll from Cotton to Quilts!

(And you know to check their website for their neutral rolls and other bundles to enhance your scrap stash, right?)

I can't wait to see what you make - and you know you are not limited to red/white/blue/black. Choose any 3 colors plus a neutral and it all comes out RIGHT not WRONG!

And with that - it's time to get ready to head out to that ball game!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Actions not only speak louder than words.
They show where your heart is without speaking.
What are your actions revealing about your heart today?

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
