Let’s Set Sail!

And here we are, boarding the Explorer of the Seas in Seattle, a lovely view of the city from the deck of the ship!

Irene and I had a leisurely morning in Seattle.

We took a morning walk, found a fun diner for breakfast.  Don’t you just love places that say “Breakfast served all day!”?  There is just something about breakfast out.  I love it!

We even stopped at Ross and Walgreens for some last minute shopping before heading back to the hotel, grabbing our bags and heading out to hail a cab to the docks.

Ross was open at 8am in downtown Seattle!  And I found some good bargains.  That is always fun.

Fighting the crowds boarding the ship, not so much…but we were soon on board, looking for a quiet place to sit and do some stitching while waiting for my mom and my aunts to arrive.

I found my mom at the Promenade Cafe!

haven’t seen her in about a year, so this is really fun.  I can’t believe we are doing this….50 quilters AND my mom and her two sisters.  This is going to be one crazy fun journey!

The four of us!

Me, Aunt Joy, my mom, and Aunt Gail!

Waving goodbye to beautiful Seattle!

And the sun was OUT!

This morning from my balcony.

Today is a day completely at sea.  My workshop starts at 9am.  I’m very excited to be teaching Razzle Dazzle to a wonderful group of quilters!  Many have brought husbands with them, some have brought sisters and friends.

What I love about each trip I take –we have such a wonderful mix.  Some have traveled with me before, some are brand new and so excited, and we get this wonderful mix of personalities all sharing a common bond through love of quilting and love of travel adventure.

This is memory making at its best!

While all of this is going on, this happened:

On the C&T Blog!

A glimpse inside Addicted to Scraps is up on the C&T blog yesterday morning! Read my forward and see some of the quilts to whet your appetite! Due to extensive travel, pre orders for this book will go up on my website on September 1st upon my return from teaching on a Mediterranean cruise. I can't wait to hold this book in my hands! Check it out here:  http://www.ctpub.com/blog/addicted-to-scraps/

So here is where I put myself together and head out to breakfast and down to the classroom and we start this day.

As far as connectivity goes, It’s not great.  I’m having to let my photos upload to google photos (which takes forever) and then linking to them using the web address of each photo to embed them in these posts.  I’ll have better connection when we are in port, but at sea we do what we can do!  I’ll send more photos as I am able.

Quiltville Quote of the Day!

Vintage Log Cabin quilt found in North Carolina.

You never know, your next big adventure could be right around the corner. It could be close to home. It could be far away. I think the exciting thing about life is that we really can't look ahead, we have to experience it bit by bit as it happens.

Happy Saturday, everyone!
