I love your stories!
They make me smile, they make me laugh – sometimes they tug at my heart and bring tears of understanding and connection to the surface ---
I love how you include me in your life and I love to include you in mine!
This email came from Ann in the UK and she wanted to share with us what is going on in her scrappy life!
She is breathing a bit easier now that she she has found direction in how to manage her scraps thanks to the Scrap User’s System!
She writes:
Hello Bonnie,
Ann from Norfolk, UK, I have taken the bull by the horns and cut into my fabric stash !!!!!! Phew, there, I have done it, I am no longer a fabric hoarder' I am now a fabric user, with thanks to you and your scrap user system.WONDERFUL!! She gets it! She really gets it! And you will too if you can tackle down your scraps and small leftovers as you MAKE THEM!
It feels so liberating to not be afraid anymore to use that beautiful Liberty fabric I bought at £25 a metre 6 YEARS AGO. It is now cut and sliced into strips, bricks and squares all in sizes That I use all the time.
My name is Ann And I am a fabric USER!!
Enough of being silly, but seriously Bonnie thank you so much for sharing your scrap user system, It has changed the way I quilt, for the better.
As for using old shirts I used to think it really wasn't worth it to go to all that trouble for not much fabric. Boy did I have a shock when I eventually got round to actually de-boning a shirt, pressing the fabric and cutting it on my sizzix big shot pro. squares strips and bricks PLUS a little over a fat quarter for 50p.
Ann
Yesterday I trimmed all of the backing margin from the past two quilts that I’ve quilted –cutting them into strips as well, ready to feed back into MY Scrap User’s System. It’s part of my clean up process so it is never a huge job left for later.
We had a great time on Quilt-Cam last night – if you missed it, it’s linked under the Quilt-Cam Tab at the top of the blog!
I was working on webbing my Lozenge blocks together into rows…I’ve gotten this far now:
Ready to join the rows!
It may have to wait until this evening, though.
Today I have a list longer than both arms….and Tuscany starts TOMORROW….I am off to the car dealership to get my regular maintenance and inspection done. My plate tags are expiring and it needs to happen before I leave town. Nothing like last minute ---
Packing, packing packing ((Didn’t get that new pair of running shoes I wanted..but do I really need them??))
Anyone seen my electric converter and adapter set? Where did I put it last?
Passport? Got it!
It will be early to bed tonight, and early up tomorrow ----gotta get a move on!
I hope you have a wonderful trip to Tuscany! Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your trip to Tuscany. I look forward to seeing your pictures.
ReplyDeleteYou're too funny!! new shoes of course but I wouldn't take them on a trip. I would wear them at home first and break them in.Don't need blisters slowing you down!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great time!
You always make me smile! Thanks Bonnie, have a wonderful trip!
ReplyDeleteHave a great trip, all those last minutes things will get done, or at least the ones that are the most important!
ReplyDeletelook back to one of your 5 minute clean ups and I believe your converter is in a bed side table. Or at least that is where I keep mine.
