Yes, there are still Italy photos!
SO Many Italy photos!
Because EVERY SINGLE DAY had something new and exciting to see and try – and of course, if you are going to Italy, one of the best things of all is the FOOD, right?
Who wouldn’t want to take a cooking class from a world class chef in Tuscany?
We all did….so we loaded up the bus, made our way through the beautiful Italian country side and found our way here:
Fattoria (Winery) il Poggio
and Cooking School!
First things first – go wash up!
Yummy! Making appetizers and sauces!
Can you smell them simmering?
Chef Papa telling me what to do…gotta watch out for him, he likes to get frisky with the ladies!
Next up, making the pasta by hand!
Oh we had such a great time!
After class was over, we toured the winery, learned about the cold pressing of olives for the ever important olive oil, and visited the vinyard to say hello to the beautiful grapes just starting to grow on the spring green vines covering the sunny tuscan hill sides. All this cooking and walking and touring was making us hungry!
Mangia!
Lunch served al fresco under canopy –several courses of food, and about 8 different kinds of wine….oh yes, half of us were found sleeping it off on the bus on the way home…the other half? Let’s just say it was “Quilters Gone Wild!” and the party (And the half empty bottles) made it back to the hotel and continued way past happy hour!
Later that afternoon – stitching by the pool back at our hotel.
PERFECT DAY!

Cooking Class! Tuscany, Italy, 2015 |
This is posting while I am finishing up a workshop in a totally different time zone than Italy – 10 hours difference! 4 hours difference than my own home time zone ---tonight –a lecture for the Kenai Peninsula Quilt Guild and friends….
And the fun continues!
What a fabulous time you must have had. Everything rolled into one day, food, wine, walking and looks like so much fun. I love Italy.
