Loads of Sew & Share from our two workshop days in Soldotna!
This is Cheri with her Bowdacious from Adventures with Leaders & Enders!
One thing I have to say about these Alaska gals – they are hearty stock! Our workshop may have been in Soldotna, but we drew in quilters from as far south as Homer, and as far North as Anchorage and Wasilla –and as far east as ENGLAND!
If we arrange it, they will come. In Alaska, no one is afraid of a little driving trip, and it often turns into a very fun and adventurous retreat weekend.
And they brought Show & share – which I love more than anything!
Bowdacious was our workshop when I visited two years ago – so it was fun to see many completions on my return visit!
Joy brought hers too!
Loving them all! Great finishes!
Check out the color placement in this one! Fabulous!
Too many lovelies, both new and vintage for one long blog post so I’m putting them into a slide show for your viewing pleasure. Things I also love about the slide shows? It is so easy for me to go back to my Picasa albums and find what I want when I want it. It’s good all the way around!
Click the image below if you are unable to view the slide show on your mobile device. You’ll be taken to the photo album for viewing!

Didn't they all turn out great?
I am doing a bit of posting ahead here. Today is a long day with a 6 hour Kenai Fjords tour –and a drive all the way back up to Anchorage where we will stay tonight. Tomorrow morning early we are on a train excursion from Anchorage all the way to Fairbanks – and most of it will be without even phone access so I am stacking the queue!
I’ll catch up with you live sometime after we reach Fairbanks --

Beautiful quilts in your slide show! Lots of creativity! Can you elaborate a little bit on the quilt shown in pictures 5,6, and 7? I think it is actually the back of a quilt. It has a basket weave type of pattern to it. I like to think I can figure out how to make quilt blocks, but I just can not figure out how she did that.
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing the show and tell quilts. I went through my "scrap" fabrics today to organize them and am trying to figure out how to make the best use of them. Lots of ideas!
ReplyDeleteI hope your heart skips along merrily when you see what you have inspired! I hope it never gets old. I really enjoy all your trips, ideas and exploits, but I am thinking my very favourite part is the show and tell sessions. I just had a funny thought. I am willing to bet that fabric stores across the universe jump for joy when Bonnie Hunter creates another pattern, because they know that not everyone will use only scraps for their quilts! Enjoy your down time.
ReplyDeleteWow Wow Wow! Show and share was Awesome. Was one of those feedsacks? Love your adventures and the Show and Share! Thank you for including us in the fun.
