Afternoon Edition–Free Kindle Book!

This just off my radar – passing it on to you as quickly as I can because we KNOW that they don’t stay free forever and no one knows just how long the free will be!

Test Pilot’s Daughter: Revenge by Steve Ward is free today in the Amazon Kindle Store, and has received an average user rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars based on 15 customer reviews.

Category: Action & Adventure

Book Description:

Test Pilot’s Daughter: Revenge is the first title in a series featuring a gutsy female genius who fights injustice in a fast paced thriller. Molesters and pedophiles be warned, don’t mess with Christina Matthews!

Review from the Editor’s Desk of Harper Collins: Test Pilot’s Daughter is exciting, original and a real page-turner. It is extremely well plotted. The author’s familiarity with flying lends his action real veracity and texture.

Ranked number 1 out of 8,000 books on Harper Collins’ Authonomy website November, 2009.

Romance, adventure, murder and revenge, Christina Matthews does it all. An obsessed fly-girl with the Right Stuff and True Grit finds love in the oddest place, the cockpit. A beautiful and brainy college girl born with jet-fuel in her blood is haunted by a gripping family tragedy and the violent murder of her best friend. The only thing she truly fears is sleep. Tortured by nightmares, this test pilot’s daughter has to find a way to save her sanity or die. Mike Clark, call-name Lazer and a real Top Gun, looks to be the best kind of therapy.

With dreams of becoming an Astronaut-Commander, Christina struggles through heart-stopping perils in the cockpit and crash-lands on a deserted island. Without hope for rescue, she concocts an oddball plan to return survivors to civilization.

Risking her future at NASA, Christina delivers on a promise to a dying friend and faces her evil nemesis in the sky. Only by overcoming deep-seated fears can she exorcise her ghosts and pursue a lifelong dream of flying in space.

Will true love conquer Christina’s curse, or will she auger in?

This is what’s going on over here! My body clock is still on California time. Therefore, when everyone else went to bed at 10pm, my mind said…it’s only 7pm! Get Sewing!

Bernina is still sick and won’t be ready til maybe next week, so Magenta FW is busy keeping me busy! I’m working on the units for the Midnight Flight quilt, the last block I had in the 100 blocks by 100 designers vol 4 by Quiltmaker. PIeces all kitted up…just sit and sew and sew and sew! I love how this little baby hums!

And what’s that panda thing you see?

It’s the cute external speaker for my toshiba tablet! I keep this set up next to where I’m sewing and watch chicky flicky netflix to my heart’s content as I mindlessly feed pieces through the machine until the wee small hours!

Hopefully tonight there will be some more of this going on!

  2. Bonnie, I've said this before, but I'll say it again. Your tastes in books and mine must run along about the same track. I can't thank you enough for keeping track and telling us about free books available. It just adds lagniappe to an already great blog - and I don't even quilt that much anymore - just love to read about one who does and who is so successful and enthusiastic about all facets of life!!

  7. Thanks for the link to the free book. Stupid question, but how do you find these -- by a list or just dumb luck? I got a Kindle for Christmas and I don't have luck finding these books. Maybe I am just not looking in the right place.

Love the Featherweights! Mine, her name is HUMMER, is working hard here in East TN. Viking in for general cleaning etc.

Sometimes Bonnie, when everyone else is asleep is the best of best times to sew. Just sit at the machine and cruise.

Thumbs up, waiting to see your next quilt on the blog.

  11. Thanks for the freebie, I was going to ask about the cute panda... I miss little Tai Shan! It was so nostalgic how we transferred him to China in his own special FedEx plane. The book reminds me of Sky King - do you remember it as a kid (or maybe you're too young??) Anyway, it was a family show that aired on Saturdays, Sky was a pilot with a feisty niece named Penny. They fought for right and justice, but the only romance (barely hinted at) was with Sky and a buttoned-up looking lady ... it was a family show in the 60's.
