Sunrises and appearing mountain ridges!
The leaves on trees are thinning out slowly - we don't have a lot of color this year, and I don't know if we will as we've been really dry.
Temperatures are still warm - we haven't had a cold snap. All of those things that bring about brilliant color in autumn.
Leaf peepers (tourists) may be a bit disappointed this year!
Still - I am excited about the view from the cabin's front porch emerging.
Emily's Stitchers are settling in and it is lovely to have a new group exploring all of the cubbies and corners and making the new beginnings of fantastic memories here.
Projects were just getting underway yesterday morning - but look at these luscious blocks! They are a Studio 180 Deb Tucker design using her rulers.
These gorgeous blocks are bound to grow into a king sized quilt.
Halloween season is in full swing!
My sons and grandson Casden are giving the side-eye to any Halloween fabric being pink, though.
PINK!? Halloween is NOT PINK he says! Hahahahaha.
Another spooky quilt in the making!
Can't wait to see this one done.
And strawberry quilts are never out of season.
In my own little corner - more half-square triangles. How many? Too many.
But I'm not at the "Why did I think this was a good idea?" stage yet. I'm still excited about what this is becoming.
So much pressing.
So many dog ears!
I may have settled into a name for this one. One of the roads off of our road is called Brookgreen. It just may suit. I'm trying it on for a while to see if I like it.
I did have one taker for an afternoon road hike. And what a lovely afternoon for it.
And look what we found!
When pumpkin harvest is done, all the leftovers go to feed the livestock. And they love it! It's a pumpkin party!
Yummy!
Leaves are thinning here, too, and I was able to share the tumbledown cabin to my new walking partner.
Still not a lot of color changing here either - it may be a weird fall, but the weather is lovely and we are enjoying it. There may be another road hike this afternoon.
Yesterday afternoon was our scheduled chiropractor appointments - AKA DATE NIGHT. I left the retreat at 3pm to pick up Hubster Dave and make our way to West Jefferson NC.
We came upon this!
I knew they trimmed trees with helicopters but I'd never seen one in action. Fascinating!
The only hard part was when the flag guy turned the stop sign around and encouraged us to move along while we were mesmerized and watching.
Last night's hexie stitching
At least I didn't fall asleep during the stitching process last night. More to add to this one, but it's getting there.
I am so excited about this one!

Works for me!
Happy Friday, everyone -

I always love learning new things about quilting AND the world. You give lessons for both. I never knew about helicopters trimming trees, nor did I know they fed the leftover pumpkins to the cattle. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThat's a perfect name for your project quilt!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous weather here.
The cows look happy.
I'm working on a Kathy Smidtz embroidery with a mini charm border.
Have a wonderful day 🌹
Blessings 🙏
