Razzle Dazzle, It's On Zazzle!

I've been a neglectful friend.  And I'm blaming it on the jet lag and bronchitis.

I had said I was going to do this yesterday - and that was after I said that I was going to do it before New Zealand (if possible) but it didn't happen.

The Indigo Way Collection is up in the Quiltville Zazzle Store and if you haven't snatched up your favorite swag items now, there is a sale running!

You'll find pins, bumper stickers, magnets and mugs currently in the collection, but did you know there is a whole feature where you can add the logo to hundreds of items?

This is where things got really fun. I scrolled through so many different things, and could see what the item would look like right before my eyes.

Choose a product for our Indigo Way logo HERE.

Cold coozies!  Summer is coming!

How about some playing cards?

Choose a tee!  There are unisex and ladies styles.

Quilters can never have enough tote bags!

My favorite is the mug - be sure to choose the 15 oz size! I like my mugs big, and I can not lie.

I've talked before about what Forest Jane does with all of the profits from the sale of Quiltville items from the Zazzle store.  You can read more about it here

The funds are used to purchase needed supplies for the free sewing, knitting, crocheting workshops that Forest Jane gives to those in need through her local library.  It's a giving back thing! It's a pay it forward thing. And we appreciate your purchases so much as they allow her to continue offering the supplies that folks may not be able to afford otherwise.

Play around with all of the items you can add our logos to. It's fun. And you'll find something that you really like.

And a big thank you for all who have purchased to help keep the teaching and sharing and caring moving forward.

We are ready!

It was such a nice day yesterday that I once again opened all of the windows to let fresh air in.  I also set up a couple of fans to continue to move the air around and let the fumes OUT.

It's nearly back to normal - minus chair mats which we can't put down until March.

You can see where I placed a floor fan in front of the big bay windows to encourage that fresh air to come in and do its thing to help ease the smell.

Valentine's decor is up!

This cute heart swag was knitted by friend Martha.  It's so cute hanging over the dining room French doors.

Kitchen and bathroom rugs were washed and hung over the porch rail to dry in the sun. What a marvelous feeling!

The rest of my day was spent at my desk getting that pattern writing moving along.  Not done yet, but getting there.  I have a few days left to go. But it will get done.

Last evening we drove down to Elkin for a belated birthday dinner as I missed Jeff's birthday as well as my own while in New Zealand.  Our birthdays are 2 days apart - and dinner out is a thing we do and I always look forward to celebrating with him.

Housekeeper Susan will arrive this morning to start working her magic on the rest of the house.  Friend Martha will swing by to help make beds and we'll be well on the way to having things ready for tomorrow's February Quiltvillians arrival.

Thanks so much also - to those who sent encouraging words on how to deal with a newly retired spouse while I am in no way retired - in fact - ramping up.

It's a different dance but we'll figure it out! I'm excited for this time in our lives together.

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

This says so much -

Off to build my inner world - have a terrific Tuesday, everyone!

  1. ah yes, retirement! It is FABULOUS. My commitment to myself: I put nothing in my calendar for 5 months except routine appts for dental/medical. I didn't fill my days. I did what I wanted in the moment. I wanted to be CERTAIN this was the time and that I would enjoy life without paid employment. (I could easily have been rehired in my field as a OR RN). This is my recommendation to anyone who tells me they are going to jump. Don't fill the space up :-)

    1. I retired in 2017 and gave myself permission to say "No!" to any new commitment/project/group until 2020. (I knew I'd have to force myself to keep my newly-freed time uncluttered for a while--"Sure!" is my 4-letter word.) "That's so far away!" my friends said, but I knew it would fly by in the blink of an eye. What I didn't know was that as soon as I emerged from my self-imposed "cocoon", the world would shut down! Even with that, I've never run out of things to do/make/create. It wasn't until 2023 that I included a couple of new groups/efforts into my routine: Community First! Quilters, and Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Now I'm fulfilled instead of overwhelmed.

This, of course, has nothing to do with your guy's retirement, Bonnie! Elle's remark sparked my own.

    2. Ah yes Carolyn, I retired July 26, 2019. And by March 26 our Gov shut our state down for a period. I will say, it's not a bad way to retire. I filled my days with reading, walking, sewing, chatting with friends, picnics in the park with said friends....I am Blissful as I approach the 5y mark and I'm only 62yo :-)

  2. Your description of Forest Jane's efforts prompted me to search for programs like that in my neck of the woods, and I found a place nearby that would love my gently-used craft items I no longer (or, in the case of my mom's supplies, never) use or need. Thank you for helping my continual efforts to declutter, purge, and rehome!

Bonnie, have you tried using cut potatoes to remove the smell? It works for me, just cut each potato into about 8 pieces, (the more surface area the better) and leave them on the tables cut sides up. The smell should be much better tomorrow. With the size of the room maybe 2-3 pounds should work.

  6. Bonnie the floor is beautiful!!!
Thankfully, hubster has hobbies and lots of ways to help out at the Inn. And he knows how to cook! Mine can only boil water or cook frozen dinners! 🤪 Best of luck to you both.

  8. My husband would like to retire yesterday but there's a few more years of work ahead of him, unless we win the lottery. Of course, we'd have to actually play ;) Congrats to your hubster on his retirement. I expect he'll find plenty to keep himself busy. Those floors look wonderful. Love the hardwood.

Please tell your hubby congratulations! He Made It! My hubby "graduated" from work March of 2020! LoL... it was not fun for him to try to get all of the paper work done (he worked at an Air Force base) and of course anyone that wasn't considered essential wasn't there! It has been interesting to do the dance as you say. And at this moment... he too is doing the vacuuming. But you know, we both live in this house and we take turns with different jobs. What with all of his activities your husband has. I'm sure you will be just fine. We started out in a different situation because of Covid, but we survived and we are enjoying ourselves. Take care... Jean
