Afternoon Spring Sunshine!

Eight of us out and about!

That meant it took two cars to get us here - and that's really exciting for me to have so many willing and raring to go on a road hike up Roundhouse Road.

Some were new - first time Quiltville Inn retreaters and first tie walking up one of our favorite leg stretches in these parts.

Some were happy to be back again, experiencing all of the emerging signs of spring, both sight and sound.

Here everyone is straddling the state line at the sign - one foot in Allegany County, NC and the other in Grayson County, VA.

Beautiful white blooms on a hillside.

Traditional yellow blooms against a split log fence.

They bobbed and danced on the breeze as we walked by - waving us on and seeming to say "Hello!"

Stopping to listen to the burbling brook as it rolls down hill toward the river.

It was a fun getaway - only lasting about an hour, but giving us the energy we need to get back to the sewing machines and get some more work done on those fabulous projects!

Some daffies needed to come inside to cheer us on!

Things are progressing nicely here!

Another Chilhowie under way!

Clover on the left, and a quarter log cabin on the right!

I love a time honored churn dash!

Grand Illusion taking shape here!

Love the colors!

This color pallet is just YUMMY!

Oh, looks like someone is stringing up a storm!

Sandcastles from String Frenzy is in the house!

Unchained accented by green!

And from home -

Round 3 is looking really great - almost done with one side.  The texture as it crosses the baskets is wonderful!

An hour or two in the evenings with my feet up in my comfy spot will get this done in whatever time it takes to get it done.

Guess what today is also for?

It's time to draw for our 2 winners in my New River Star Gift-Away!

Not sure how we got to Monday, but here we are.

Today I'll be calling around vets finding a place to get Tula spayed (if we can catch her.)

Thank you so much for all of the words of wisdom, care and concern.

It's the last day for Irene's Sewciologists - they head home tomorrow.  It's been a fantastic week!

How was your weekend?  Did you get anything started, progress made, or finished?

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Yes! Yes we can!

She used the free pattern under the Free Patterns tab  to make this beauty!

I love that soft butter yellow as the background.

Have a happy Monday, everyone!

  1. I had SEW much fun Stitching in my Hotel! The Quilt Show in Tri-Cities had 2 Rhododendron Trail Mystery Quilts and I saw a colorful Frolic Mystery, too. Love the Daffodils in the breeze. My first blooms are showing in the flowerbeds. Almost Tulip time! I think Spring really is coming to the PNW.

I’m with my grand twins, helping out while my son recovers from a broken leg. I have my machine with me but haven’t accomplished as much as I hope to. We’re working on a little sleeping bag for a couple of camping Barbie’s.

Love the hiking photographs...feel like we are right there with you!
