Cherry Crunch Gift-Away and MORE!

It's the weekend!

And not just any weekend.  It's a Martin Luther King long holiday weekend here in the US of A, and we are in the midst of preparations for a huge winter storm that is about to dump up to 12 inches of the white stuff on us starting tonight and continuing through Sunday.

As  quilter, one thing I love about winter storms, is the plethora of quilting rulers I see through my social media feed shoved down into the snow to measure snow depths. These are my peeps, and we know how to measure snow.  LOL!

Because this storm is likely going to keep me cabin bound and snowed in at least part way through Monday, I'm planning for crock pot meals, comfort food, good movies, and LOADS of quilting time!

It's a great weekend to kick of the release of my newest printable PDF pattern - Cherry Crunch!

There are other Winter themed patterns on sale, and a free shipping offer, so be sure to read all the way to the bottom of this post.

I had a BLAST pulling all of these wild neutrals together for the background units!

And yes, the pattern includes step-by-step instructions with plenty of graphics and photos with all of the hints, tips and tricks you need as you begin (or continue) your own string piecing journey.

One word of warning - String piecing is ADDICTING!!!!

Just look at all of the fun stuff in here!

I used the Simple Folded Corners ruler (or Simple Folded Corners Mini) along with my Essential Triangle Tool to make the units in Cherry Crunch for ease of construction, less fabric waste, and greater accuracy.

If you don't have access to these rulers, never fear - I have included THREE methods for you to stitch with success requiring no specialty rulers at all.

Red strings in the border!

Studio Cat included!

As is appropriate for this wintery weekend ahead, Cherry Crunch was quilted in sand colored thread in an edge-to-edge design called Storm Watch by QuiltersNiche.com.

This binding took forever to stitch.  LOL!

Ivy Lea holding down the other end.

Stash clean out for the back!

I am continuing on my challenge to put those "harder to use" stash fabrics to good use in crazy pieced backings.  For this one, if it has red and black, in it went.  I figure this is a good 6+ yards gone, leaving me just a bit more breathing space in the "Why do I have this?" bin.  LOL.

Quilt Size: 67'' X 75''

The introductory price for Cherry Crunch is marked 25% off in the digital pattern section of the Quiltville Store.  No coupon needed!  Price reduction good through 1/31/22.

And while that is exciting on its own - it's even BETTER if we throw in a Gift-Away, don't you think?

I will be drawing for ONE lucky winner and THEIR FRIEND who will each receive the printable PDF pattern for Cherry Crunch along with a Facets of Red fabric roll from Cotton to Quilts

(Fabric prize must be shipped to a USA address only.  If you are outside of the USA we can ship it to a friend within the USA who can then forward it on to you.)

You gotta be in it to win it!

We will draw for our winner and their friend on Monday 1/24/22!

Good luck everyone!

And it doesn't end there.  I have placed some OTHER Winter themed patterns ALSO at 25% off with no coupon required!

Forever Mine PDF pattern includes the runner too!

On sale at 25% off through 2/13/22

Warm Hands, Warm Heart & Winter Blues are both 25% off through 1/31/22.

And this weekend only - I am offering FREE SHIPPING (USA orders only) on all Quiltville Store orders $40.00 or more using coupon code FREE40 at checkout.

To use a coupon code - click REDEEM YOUR COUPON on the shopping cart page beneath the the total. Enter the coupon code FREE40 in the box that opens up. Click enter.

Free shipping offer is good through Monday, 1/17/22 and is not retroactive.  Code MUST be used at time of purchase.  No refunds if you forget, okay?

I think that's everything for today.  Let the snow come, I'm ready!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

And if you say it with a genuine smile, it's infectious!
Get that smile on today, everyone!

There is so much to be genuinely happy about, snow or no snow.

Have a wonderful quilty weekend!

  3. I love it that Ivy Lea and I have the same middle name, spelled the same. My sister gave her only daughter Lea as her middle name and my niece named her little girl Leah, so the Lea lives on.

I’ve been string piecing like crazy. Have 60 blocks done.

  11. I miss seeing peoples' smiles.....I smile at people and then realize they can't see my smile because of my mask. The storm will move north into the Shenandoah Valley on Sunday and Monday and we are suppose to get 8-14 inches. Love the Cherry Crunch pattern!!!

  14. Hi Bonnie:
We had snow most of the day, and 36-37 degrees. So, it was slippery. Big Fluffy flakes fast and furious for a while, then smaller ones, sot as fast and furious. It is now below freezing again, so it is crunchy snow ice. NOT what we want, but we have it. Back to the deep freeze for us.

I Love Rhododendron Trail reveal! I am one that changed a couple of my colors, and will now put it on hold to finish a couple others I was working on. I am trying to clean up some UFOs. BUT, I am further along on this one than I have been before at this point. I have some of each step done, up to the reveal, and my A and B blocks are up on a design wall. I will go sew on it now, then it will have to be put away for a while, as I have a Curvaceous Cabins class three days between Monday and the 21st. This has been one that has been in the works for a couple of years, so it needs to get more to being complete!

  15. Your Cherry Crunch quilt is gorgeous ❤️ The weather we are getting is a roller coaster… freezing cold days then warmer days with lots of snow! We don’t want to be outside long when it freezing but have to spend hours in the fresh air shovelling! The perfect balance??!!
