Quilty Box
Subscribe today at Quiltybox.com I LOVE the fact that 5% of the profits go to Quilts for Kids! It’s a win win all the way around!
Let’s look closer at this box:
Pre-cut Hexagons from Me & You!
Hexagon-shaped precuts featuring 40 different Me & You Indah Solids and Batiks. 100% cotton, hand-dyed and laser-cut in Bali. Made to inspire the improv quilter, to transform into triangles, diamonds, tumblers and exaggerated flying geese. Or simply leave as is in a perfect hexie.
Oh, these could be fun!
Thread cutter by Sunflower Quilts! Sunflower Quilts original Thread Cutter has a plastic body that holds a sharp blade in its center, perfect for cutting threads between chain piecing. Keep one by your sewing machine, ironing board, or cutting table. Just hold fabric with both hands and slide the thread across the blade. Body has small “non-skid” feet on the bottom. Proudly made in the USA.
Seamingly Accurate Seam Guide: This re-positionable adhesive seam guide has many markings to sew variable allowances.
InvisiFil Thread: Our Finest line, InvisaFil is a remarkable silk-like 100 wt 2 ply cottonized polyester thread. This ultra-fine but surprisingly strong thread has cotton-like characteristics and negligible stretch while also feeling soft in the hand. InvisiFil makes for super low bulk stitches and virtually disappears, making it the ultimate choice for English paper piecing, delicate lace designs, fine fabrics, creating texture when micro quilting, or whenever you don’t want your stitching to show. It is available in 60 subtle to bright colors with a matte finish so you can choose how much thread you want to show. (or none at all!)
Sarah’s Hexometry Quilt Pattern included!
This Quilty Box collection has been curated for you by Sarah Thomas of Sariditty. Sara is a professional longarm quilter and Handi Quilter National Educator who specializes in her own form of FMQ called Sketchbook Quilting.
Would you like to win this October Quilty Box?
Our winner will be drawn on the evening of Monday, October 24th! Good luck, everyone!
On the order fulfillment front:
Box #6 is out the door!
It was this kind of day yesterday: I marked someone shipped who was not, shipped an order to someone else, but forgot to mark theirs as shipped, refunded someone who wasn't supposed to be, forgot someone's playing cards in their order, and messed up someone else's order not once, but TWICE.
Who was SUPPOSED to be refunded but wasn’t? I can’t remember! It was likely an international order that simply forgot to include their international shipping in their order, and I can’t send it without postage, and I need it all on ONE invoice for my records, and just needed them to replace their order so it was all there –and now I don’t know WHO. LOL.
The person I refunded by mistake, laughed with me, placed her order again and we are good to go.
And I haven’t run out of the Addicted to Scraps book or the Essential Triangle Tool yet, but we are getting close, only a few cases of each left…I’m holding my breath as I continue to fill orders as far as we can, and then we’ll wait patiently for more merchandise to come in.
Today’s little quilt!
I bought this little simple 9 patch doll/toddler quilt because it was so simply beautiful. 2 fabrics, a double pink and a muslin date this quilt to about 1890 and it was lovingly treadle quilted with tiny stitches, even the cable border. I can imagine this border being traced to the fabric with pencil, and then quilted, feet going, hands moving the quilt under the needle much as we do today.
Early machine quilted quilts are something I love to collect. There have been machine quilted quilts ever since the invention of the machine!
This quilt is the backdrop for today’s quote:
Quiltville Quote of the Day!
And once we finally hit midlife, we start to realize how fast the time is flying by. Make it count!
Have a great Thursday, everyone!
