February ‘16 Quilty Box Give-Away!

Feb2016
Hello, Everyone!

Guess who is home?

I haven’t even had a chance to unpack yet – got home close to midnight last night and simply rolled in my suitcase, and crawled into bed after giving loads of love to both Sadie Jane and Emmy Lou.

This morning came too early – Remember that I’m on a body clock that thinks I should still be on Arizona time.

So I’m going to start this day off with something fun and simple!

Let’s offer up the February 2016 Quilty Box for Give-Away!

Never heard of a Quilty Box?
  • Quilty Box is a monthly subscription box. They offer plans from $44-48/mo.
  • 5% of the profits of multi-month subscriptions are donated to Quilts for Kids - a non-profit which donates quilts for children in need
  • Each month we have 4 or more products (Fabric, patterns, thread, or notions)
  • Our retail value of the products in the box is always more than $50
Your support is appreciated. If you have any questions or comments don't hesitate to contact me.

Thank You,

Patrick Claytor

Owner - Quilty Box

Subscribe today at www.QuiltyBox.com!
I think the thing that makes me feel the best, besides the fact that these are items I WILL use –is the knowledge that 5% of the proceeds go to help kids in need.

Make more quilts, cover kids with love.  It’s all good!

In this box you will find:

Black and White All Over!

A Black and White 2 1/2’’ strip roll just for this Quilty Box!  Kona Cotton Solids Roll Up includes 40 2 1/2’’ X 42’’ strips of fabric, 20 Black and 20 white!

These strips work perfectly with the Fluorescent Light quilt pattern by Christopher Thompson aka The Tatooed Quilter!

You will also find Aurifil cotton 50 wt thread in White and Black to compliment the Kona Strip Roll, ideal for all types of applique, hand piecing, embroidery and quilting.

And while sewing up some fun, get your buttons on!

Fabric Hoarder and Tatooed Quilter buttons are sure to bring a smile while you use your Muppin.com Sewing Skull and Cross Bones tape measure!  It has the sewing skull motif on one side and a push button retractor on the other.

A ring thread cutter completes this set, and I can see myself using this ring while working on hexies on the plane.  This sleek adjustable ring has a double sided blade perfect for quick and efficient cutting while hand sewing.  Velcro adjustable strap to fit all size fingers.

Quiltville Quote of the Day!

Interesting experience on the plane home last night. I've come to realize that what people say to you and think of you is more a reflection of themselves than of you. It's a waste of time to try to set other people straight, silence is often the best answer.

Old Tobacco Road quilt photographed while at my dads where it now lives.  Free pattern found under the free patterns tab at the top of the blog.

Have a great Monday, everyone!

  1. That is so true Bonnie, and I find their opportunities almost every day to practice this. Glad you are home! Try to relax and enjoy.

  2. Some of your quotes are coming at a very good time for me. This one makes me think I'm doing the right thing by not responding to someone - just keeping my mouth shut, and moving on!

  3. Please let me know how you like the thread cutterz. I purchased one for the same task you plan to use I for, hexie piecing. However, I can't get a short enough thread tail on the project side, and I can't get a non-frayed end n the spool side to thread the next needle by hand. If I use a needle threader it will work, but I am stubborn and am still threading needles by hand until late in the day.

Glad you are home safely and appreciated by your family, there and away. Have a good week. See you on quilt cam.

  5. I found my most challenging "I need to keep my answers to myself" moments came when our youngest arrived. He is Korean. I am not. I would have answered most anything IF it had been asked in a respectful way. Most times it was not. I have gotten more proficient at one word answers! My family is amazed! lolol Glad you got to enjoy your family and our lovely AZ Feb weather. I am just hoping its not TOO hot when Spring Training arrives!

  9. Bonnie I love the quotes that you have been posting! Almost every day it applies to something that is going on in my life. It is like having a positive friend there to give you a positive way of looking at things or the support to just let it roll off of your back! Looking at things in a positive way takes a little support and you and your quotes of the day are just the way to start off the day! :) Thanks for all that you do Bonnie!

  40. Yes, your observation is quite right. And the corollary is, that what you think of them generally also reflects what you think of yourself. That is something I'm still trying to learn!
