But it's all coming together in a VERY VERY good way.
It's Sunnyside pattern release and gift-away day and we've got lovely Notable Neutrals fabric rolls from Cotton to Quilts to include with THAT event.
And my publisher C&T is also hosting a gift away for my new book Scrap-Savvy over on their site! (More details below, keep reading!)
And we'll top that off with my friend Bruce Leonard's newest Hadley Carroll Quilt City book release also happening today! It's called Payment Declined and you are going to love it!
The kind folks at C&T publishing and I are working together to give away five signed copies of Scrap-Savvy to those who enter on their website HERE.
After submitting the form on the entry page, check your email to confirm your subscription and entrance to the giveaway.
(You can always unsubscribe at anytime.)
Gift-Away info: Winners will be selected at random and emailed, and they will have 72 hours to respond with their mailing address. If we do not receive a response, we will draw another winner at random. Good luck!
We want to get this big beast (it's heavy!) of a book containing 30 of my best loved scrap quilt patterns into your hands.
So head on over there, get your entry in, and then come back here to finish up the other two things we are giving away. Yes, we are keeping your fingers busy today!
Next up!
Book 6 in the Hadley Carroll Quilt City series releases TODAY!
Quilt City: Payment Declined is available in ebook and paperback.
Right on time, because I will need something to keep me entertained on my long flight to India coming up in a couple of weeks.
The world of journalist, quilter, and the mayor of Paducah, Hadley Carroll, unravels when a danger that had been neutralized reemerges, disrupting the peace in Paducah and threatening Hadley’s life.
Alexander Blevens, the Spur Award–winning author of Arkansas Black and Bycatch, said the following about Quilt City: Payment Declined, the sixth Hadley Carroll Mystery:
“Hadley’s power to mend tattered lives and piece together evidence, with the help of her fellow quilters, is on full display in this tightly woven novel. Bruce Leonard’s mastery of mystery and suspense is stitched into every page. Let Quilt City:Payment Declined pull you into a story rich with heart, intrigue, and unforgettable charm.”

If you are new to Bruce, and new to Hadley Carroll and love who-done-it mysteries with a quilty thread running through them, I can't recommend this series enough.
Bruce will be gifting away 3 signed paperback copies to winners I will draw for in this gift-away!
And! (There is always an and!)
I'll also be drawing for 2 winners who will each receive a Sunnyside PDF pattern from me and a beautiful Notable Neutrals roll from our friends at Cotton to Quilts.
To keep this as hassle free as possible, I will draw for the 3 book winners, the 2 pattern and fabric winners from the SAME sign up so you only have to enter once.
I dug through all of these ratty 2'' strips that needed a place to shine -
Because I was cutting flying geese with my Essential Triangle Tool I could get both the base triangles and the wing triangles from the same width of strips. So so so easy!
Each block was a quick and fun little project -
Great for putting fussy-cuts in the centers!
Some simple and sunshiny yellow sashings with four-patch cornerstones ties all of the random blocks together.
It was so much fun choosing the fabrics for the blocks, remembering where they came from , which other quilts they had a place in - a catalog of delicious color. Sometimes simple quilts are simply just what I need in between the more intensely pieced ones.
Of course, the yellow didn't stop with the sashings -
I dug into the bin of yellow hunks and chunks to see what I could stitch up into big blocks for the backing. It's so simple. Just sew random pieces together until you have a block big enough to square up with your largest ruler. I'm using my 16 1/2'' Olfa Frosted here.
Yes, even the bathing flamingos went in. LOL!
It was also a great place to use the leftover blocks from the front.
Sunnyside front -
Sunnyside back!
2 winners will each receive a Sunnyside PDF pattern from me and a Notable neutrals fabric roll from Cotton to Quilts. 3 more entries from this same gift-away will receive a signed copy of Quilt City: Payment Declined from Bruce Leonard himself.
We'll draw for our winners Saturday, 8/29/26.
Intro pricing: The Sunnyside PDF pattern is currently 25% off, no coupon needed - and good through 8/31/26. Hurry!
All The best scraps!
A simple little block that puts every saved bit to good use. Stitch a rainbow of scrappiness! Full color photos, graphics, and multiple unit construction options.
Quilt Size: 90’’ X 90’’ and easily customizable.
It's been a lot getting all of this to release on the SAME DAY, but also such a great motivator.
And of course you remembered to head over to C&T to win a copy of Scrap-Savvy on their site, yes? YES?!?
The August Quiltvillians 2.0 are checking out this morning and the Undercover Quilters are checking in tomorrow so you know what's on my list today?
12 loads of laundry, getting everything ready - and HOPEFULLY begin putting those string diamond stars together.
"Hello, Y seams, my old friend...I've come to stitch with you again...."
Sung to the tune of Sounds of Silence, of course!
This is the age where I can go from calm and sane to frazzled and sweary in 60 seconds or less!
Let's hope today is not one of those days!
Have a terrific Tuesday, everyone -
