We took a walk through Lowes yesterday after my appointment with the dermatologist.
No matter how much snow there is outside I saw the hope of incoming spring making an appearance around every corner.
Blooming orchids!
Okay they were covered with snow, but it still brings hope of spring, doesn't it?
There were some BBQs out by the lawn mowers as well.
No matter how bleak things may look and feel right now, spring is right beneath the ground, rumbling and riotous waiting to awaken.
It's coming!
This is your reminder to NOT put off appointments like mammograms and physicals and blood work tests and yes - dermatology.
Because what might not be visible to your naked eye (Naked being the key word here! LOL!)
They just might find something early enough that a simple freeze-off could save you from a much later problem.
I thought I had something growing on my nose. I was really wary of it over the past couple of months because I knew I had this appointment coming.
After my previous Mohs surgery to remove a basal cell carcinoma from my forehead, I'm always on guard.
And guess what? It was a NOTHING BURGER!
It was a clogged pore. And likely on top of a tiny cyst. And we are going to watch it for a year and see what happens.
That was it. I was in and out of that appointment with my appointment date set for next year.
And then came the trip to Lowes.
That led to a trip to Walmart to pick up a new set of cooking pans for the in as we start season 7.
The other set I had when we opened has seen lots of use and better days and the ceramic non-stick coating is scraped in places due to the use of metal utensils.
*Note to self* Remove ALL metal spatulas from the premises and make sure non-scratch ones are readily available!
We dropped things off at the inn, and came home for lunch just in time because THIS happened:

All finished!
I was able to finish these nine blocks yesterday giving me the number I need to move on to the next part of this project -
Maybe I'll have a top to share come Monday? Just Maybe.
And this is where I hope the project I've seen in my mind over the past couple of months will actually turn out looking like I hoped it would.
I loved making these simple sawtooth stars. One of my favorite blocks of all time.
Do you have favorites t4hat you return to again and again, too?
Are you dreaming of coming with me to Romania in June? June is stated to be the most beautiful month to visit. I can't wait.
We still have some spots available, and I was told that the cut off date for those who wish to join me is March 6th - so hurry! Get your reservation in NOW!
Find out more on my Craftours travel page HERE.
I'm looking forward to making some travel memories together with you!
While there are some circumstances and experiences that you can't control, twists and turns along the way, you have a hand in creating a life that you love.
Carve out some time this weekend and do something that you love!

The colors in the first pic from Lowes just scream a co;or pallet for a quilt!
ReplyDeleteI'm really intrigued by the granny square quilt. How did she put those together without sashing? Amazing.
ReplyDeleteAnd your driveway is amazing too. We've had over a foot of snow on the ground seems like all of January. Very unusual, and the very low temps has not let it melt.
Hooray that your dermatology appointment went well.
ReplyDeleteAwe, poor Bonnie! I like that you find the hope no matter how bleak things are. We are just the opposite. Deep drought here in South Central Texas and reaching highs in the 70's closer to 80's this coming week.
ReplyDeleteI always like it when projects come out the way you intend them too. I can't wait to see what you came up with. Enjoy your snow day sew day! I'm going to go sew as well. Happy Caturday! :-)
Love the background quilt for the "quote of the day " Looks like all hand piecing to me - a work of love (and probably years)
ReplyDeleteHearing you say "Dear Virginia..." had me perking my ears up. I am so sorry. There was some sort of miscommunication between departments and you got more than was scheduled and the NW isn't getting any of the winter weather that was scheduled. I will be addressing those departments right away. Hahaha
ReplyDeleteHaha. What to do when the snow won't leave and the sun is hiding? Go to Lowes and look at the plants. I did the same yesterday. Came back with three that were on sale. well, they Were on sale, after all.
ReplyDeleteHere in central NC Tuesday will be 64 degrees and Wednesday will be 61. Hopefully you will be getting closer to that very soon where you are.
ReplyDeleteDear Bonnie, only got on my email this morning and was checking out your blog from yesterday. Couldn't sleep, so I am up early and the rest of the household is sleeping. I clicked on yesterday's video and got the shock of the day - my computer was asking me to stop and push a red button . Panic time! Fortunately, I collected myself and realized that this voice was not my computer sending out some cryptic message, but you quietly addressing your state about more snow! I remain a devoted fan and look forward to returning to Quiltville in May.
ReplyDeleteLove, Virginia. (I go by Ginny and rarely hear my formal name - except as a kid, when I was in trouble.) Sorry about all the snow but thanks for the chuckle.
I am sorry, Bonnie, but your pic of the kitty's destruction made me ROLL with much needed laughter! My sweet dog has done that so many times. I am a floor placer too. I just had to leave Indiana retreat early due to BAD flu hitting me and today you made my day. I SO get the funny annoyance...gotta love them!
