On Valentine's Weekend!

I got to spend Valentine's Weekend with the February Quiltvillians!

The last retreat I was here for was in October just before heading out to Vancouver, Washington in the aftermath of Jason's surgery.  Then on to my Dad's in Arizona. I missed the only November retreat we schedule due to the looming holiday season.

And December? I missed that one too as I was in Germany and Austria.

I've missed hearing the happiness of quilters visiting, creating and sewing away in this space.

Now that retreats are back in full swing, my whole world feels lighter some how. Like it should be.

These are my peeps!

Not gonna lie - I have also missed yumminess in the kitchen!

How lovely, and yes please!

And they've been busy working on group challenges as well as their own projects.

This year it's Pat Sloan's free Oh My Stars quilt made with charm packs.

Another color way happening here!

This one is coming together!

Indigo blue and neutral triangles are becoming:

Beautiful basket blocks which become:

Baskets with stars!

And then there was a top!

Pattern is Indigo Baskets of Plenty by Red Crinoline Quilts.

I spy some Hamilton Gardens progress!

It's looking great!

Quick projects like table runners and toppers are great retreat projects.  Done in no time at all!

Free Lil' Kim PDF pattern HERE.

Two things are happening here!

On the left:

This is going to be intense! Eureka by Animas Quilts.

And the interlocking hearts is found in this book.

It's called Better Together bed runner.

Up to the borders on this gorgeous wooly applique!

All while some holiday themed Four Patch Fun is building by Leaders & Enders!

Oh how pretty!

This was a free PDF at one time - still may be available.

As for me?  Hazel Shenanigans!

How could anyone resist her?

I'm typing up this post from my office at the QPO studio after dropping her off for her spay appointment this morning.

I kept her in the QPO overnight because I didn't want to go trying to find her in the 6am darkness this morning.

I wish I had a motion detector camera in here because holy moly!  Piles of quilts knocked over, stuff pushed off counters. Oh Hazel!

I'll pick her up at 5pm tonight.

My scrappy floral backing was my weekend focus!

The quilt is 103'' square. I needed a backing about 113'' so I nearly ran out of working floor space.

Not to mention this little Diva. Sheesh.

Yep! This will do nicely.

And that bin closes a bit more easily.

Yes, yes, yes!

I got this far yesterday afternoon before bringing Hazel in for the night.  I wasn't go any further because I could just see her turning the loaded quilt into a kitty hammock.

Pokey-sided rug runner has been ordered.  And she is learning what the water filled spray bottle means.  But when I'm not here? We already found out how all over the place she was last night so...*eye roll*

Tula got a Valentine card from Lucky and Janie!  Thank you so much!

Last night's lap-sitting-cat-petting session lasted about 30 minutes and she was relaxing into it, so there is progress being made there.

And yes. I'm still having nightmares of too many cats.  But what's a girl to do?

I know this is long, but I'm sticking this in here anyway.  This happened Saturday.

And for those interested in the Half-Rectangle Trim Tool I have a confession - I added the new inventory to the store, but forgot to click SAVE. DUH.  So they are there.

More info on the Gift-Away page.  Get your entry in!

And with that, I'm headed next door to say good morning to the quilters, and start in on quilting this beast!

I've been thinking "String Ring" since I first drew it up, but maybe "Rainbow Rings?" Any other ideas?

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

There is always a way to move forward!

Even if you have to take a little side step and cha cha cha along the way!

Shattered! is available as a PDF pattern in the digital pattern section of the Quiltville Store.

Have a marvelous Monday, everyone!
