B.A.D. Bee Over The Rail!

With incoming snow and high winds, we opted for our Over-The-Porch Rail photo shoot on Saturday - and would you look at that sunshine?

Temps were in the low 60s, we were out in shirt sleeves - who could guess what would be coming in on Sunday night?

Yesterday (Monday morning) I woke up to 14 degrees. Brrrr!  We made the right choice of doing this earlier in the retreat.

Add to that that the ladies were checking out yesterday morning (one of these years we will get them to stay until Tuesday, but some still had to go to work!) and we made the right choice.

Easy Street was an earlier Quiltville Winter Mystery and is now found in MORE Adventures With Leaders & Enders and Old Town just waiting for borders!

Three lovelies here!

I'm not sure of the pattern source for the skewed nine patch at the far left, but I definitely see a Garlic Knots and an alternate setting for Tulip Time!

That's a Virginia Bound from Scraps & Shirttails and another Old Town!

Top featuring Kaffe fabrics finished while on retreat!

Denim tumbling blocks and a lovely  Lupine & Laughter finish!

Two  Lupine & Laughter quilts together!

Thanks for a wonderful retreat, ladies!  We'll see you back next year - hopefully missing the nasty weather that settled in at the tail end of your retreat.

But it doesn't matter.  As long as the quilters are in the house and there is plenty of good food and loads of fabric to go around, the quilters are happy!

This was our day yesterday -

Tula had a vet check appointment in Hillsville, an hour's drive away. Luckily there wasn't any snow on the roads, even though it had flurried all night and was still flurrying throughout the day.

The consensus?  She is healing.  The antibiotics are working, but they want to keep the opening in her incision open for more drainage.

Warm wet compresses twice a day, 5 minutes each of you can get her to accept it for that long.

Poor sweet thing!  We are getting there, but as I've said in the past, I don't know how many of her 9 lives she's run through, or we have saved her from running through them.

The only stitching that happened yesterday.

This seems like a never-ending binding - and as someone said "Sometimes you could swear that quilt has 5 sides.)

We have been binging "All Her Fault" on Peacock, very good to stitch to so I should see a completion on this sometime soon.

And then I've got the binding on all of those cushion covers to move on to.

Are you dreaming of coming with me to Romania in June? June is stated to be the most beautiful month to visit. I can't wait.

We are into the last days of signups and registration will be closing soon.

We still have some spots available, and I was told that the cut off date for those who wish to join me is March 6th - so hurry! Get your reservation in NOW!

Find out more on my Craftours travel page.

I'm looking forward to making some travel memories together with you! Who knows? Romania just may be the inspiration for our NEXT Quiltville Winter Mystery!

Just a few days left to save!

Iceland Inspired!

A Craftours trip to Iceland in 2025 inspired the colors and design of this quilt. Originally presented as a Quiltville Winter Mystery, this pattern booklet includes all of the tips, helps and techniques covered in the mystery. Full color photos and graphics. Optional paper piecing templates for some units included.

Quilt Size: 80’’ X 80’’

Introductory Pricing:

I have placed the PDF pattern booklet for Lupine & Laughter at 25% off automatic discount in the Quiltville Store. No coupon needed!  Pricing good through 2/28/26.

Today I'll be back to retreat laundry that didn't get done yesterday due to the vet adventure, and housekeeper Susan will be on hand to polish all the things in preparation for the Lincoln Quilt Guild ladies to arrive on Wednesday afternoon.

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

The constant pursuit of perfection is crazy making! ⁣

Let's keep life real and focus on progress, not perfection!⁣

Have a terrific Tuesday, everyone!
