Wrapping Up Labor Day

What a fabulous glorious Labor Day Monday - the weather was perfect - and what a display the September Quiltvillians put on as we wrapped up our retreat week -

These twelve ladies have been such a joy to have - and the projects that were worked on in between workshop time - they just never stopped creating!

I enjoyed every minute - looking forward to 3:30pm porch time with bevvies and nibbles, sitting around and chatting and feeling a part of everything.

It was just a wonderful week all the way around- Thanks, ladies!

Over the past 6 seasons of retreats, the September Quiltvillians have taken turns in making scrappy quilts for each other as group projects.  Here are all six!

You might recognize Carolina Chain from my Addicted to Scraps book on the left, and at the far fight is our Oopsie Daisie Leader & Ender challenge from that year.

This retreat we gathered everyone up in Bedroom 5 where unbeknownst to her, Barb's group quilt was laid out on the bed.

It was a marvelous presentation and she was totally surprised!

Great job keeping this one under wraps, ladies!  I loved being a part of "The Big Secret!"

Some very fine finishes!

Not sure on the pattern info on Kathy's neutral Christmas quilt - but it is so lovely!

You might recognize the table runners as Cherry Crunch and Chilhowie blocks!

Wonky Wishes in Coral and green on the left, Triple Treat Leader & Ender challenge followed by our Winter Blues workshop progress on the right!

I am so soad this turned out blurry!!

Mary made a really fun Monolpoly game quilt top - Note to self - always click twice! Also shown is the baby quilt Allison finished shared in yesterday's post.

Allison also made this London Calling block of the month quilt in Gudrun Erla's sew along.  Fabulous!

Next to her is her mom, sharing her Easy Breezy Leader & Ender challenge and her Winter Blues workshop progress on the right!

Next up - a gorgeous quilt in a barn raising layout (put info in comments please!) on the left followed by Emerald City from String Frenzy on the right.

Jen's New York Beauty is Fantastic! And Barb is holding Jen's Winter Blues workshop progress on the right!

These are the borders for the New York Beauty on the table and design all below the pumpkins in progress.

Pattern from this blook.

Some of our Winter Blues progress all in a row!

Thanks again, ladies!

We'll see you back next year!

Today - well, it's Tuesday - so you know what that means?

Mountains of laundry and resetting of all the things.

I don't have a retreat this coming weekend, it's a much needed week off but I'll be preparing for my upcoming trip to France, Germany and Switzerland. It's happening soon!

And while the quilters are away - you can darn well bet that I'll be busy working on something very mysterious over the next week! HA!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

I *SEAM* to he doing a lot of this lately -

And it always takes longer to unstitch than it did to stitch it in the first place!

Have a terrific Tuesday, everyone!

    Hi Bonnie,
I work from home sewing piecework and that involves fleece or scuba weight neoprene. I seam to be doing a lot of unseaming at this work as well. Neoprene is tough enough to unseam, but fleece is impossible, especially since I back track to secure the edges of my seams. I get so frustrated with myself that I wind up cutting away the seam line and stitching a new 1/8 inch seam. Fortunately, both fabrics are stretchy, don't fray, and have enough give for one corner seam to be a little deeper than the rest. But when I sew all four corners and find the wrong side is out, that's when I could use a swear jar. If I did, wouldn't have any worries about money and the swear jar would be overflowing. Hmmm, next time I get one of those big plastic jars of pretzels, I'll cut a slot in the lid when it's empty.

  3. Un stitching so you can make it better. Go Bonnie, Go! I am binding last year's Mystery much later than normal. Gotta do better. Learning new stuff is hard after 60. So many choices. Have a fun week! Beautiful over the porch rail pics!
