Weekend Walk Warriors!

I arrive at the inn daily somewhere between 9:30am and 10:00am.

It's all depending on how long it takes me to get my morning routine done - shower, coffee, answer emails, morning posts to social media, edit blog photos (Sometimes there are many and they need cropping and tweaking!) and it takes a couple of hours to get it all done -

So even if I am showing up at retreat when the morning is technically half over - I've been at my desk doing the grunt work.

This was my welcoming committee yesterday morning as I walked up the front steps.

Where is my breakfast?  I'VE BEEN WAITING AGES!

You know it's bad when she waits for me at the front steps, and tehn thunders around the side porch to the back knowing that I'll soon be coming out of the back door to feed her.

Such a demanding little fluff-muffin!

Six of us on yesterday's road hike down Bear Branch!

I can't tell you how happy I am to be back on the move - ankle healed.  Let's keep it that way, shall we?

Late summer - you can feel a change coming.

Keep it Moooooooving along!

By the time we reached our turn around spot at the old car - I can see how much of summer has passed already.  I hurt my ankle around the 1st of July.  We are nearing the end of August, so  good 7-8 weeks later and the brush is taking over everything.

Hearing the creek burble and babble along the roadside is such a calming sound.  I'm so happy to be out in nature again.  I've missed it.

Awesome selfie by Chicquita!

She is a powerhouse and runs circles around us all as we cheer her on.

Scrappy Mountain Majesties (Free Patterns tab) coming together!

Aaaaannnnnde....it's a finish!

Something gorgeous is happening here -

Oh wow, this is going to be amazing!

Log Cabins and stars are always a favorite!

County Clare in rainbow set in a trip around the world layout!

A quick top finish for an off to college Georgia Bulldogs fan!

Easy Street from MORE Adventures With Leaders & Enders is coming together - the goal?  Over the porch rail tomorrow afternoon as folks leave on Monday.  Let's go!

More Rockabilly Swing blocks in the making here!

Such a great quilt and uses up quite a bit of those saved cut-off corners from stitch-n-flip on previous projects!

Thanks, Karlene! LOL!!

This little squishy envelope arrived in yesterdays mail - oh look!  More Y2K neutral!  whoowhooo!  Just when I thought I'd sewn it all up in the blue string Stardust quilt! HA!  Thanks for the laugh!

Studio progress.

I am down a couple of big bins.  This is good.  But I still ahve some "what do I do with this?" piles - the blue particularly in this photo will become a very scrappy pieced backing for the blue string Stardust quilt.  I may start piecing this together next week.

Other big yardage pieces need to find their way back into the yardage cabinets - It's getting easier to get over there and actually open doors now - and I can see MOST of the floor.

My piles still have piles -

There are pink fat-quarters to rehome back into the fat-quarter stash - these were extra pinks from the orange and pink Flame Azalea quilt - pattern for that one slated to release when I get home from Europe next month.

Rediscovered cute yardage from my 2019 trip to Japan.

I need to do something with these.

For right now, I'm just petting them and will stash them back with the yardage.

Where I'm making the most progress -and definitely an upgrade.

My shirt stash was held in two 3-drawer cabinets.  One for neutral shirts, one for colored.

The strips WERE sorted by strip width, but just thrown in bins and I aim to baggie them up and have them in the new bins instead of here.

That means that each drawer needs to be emptied, sorted, pressed, stacked, rolled and placed in gallon zip locks by strip width.

I'll keep the neutrals together in one bin, and colors in the other and it will be so much better.

My plan is to repurpose these 3 drawer carts to hold neutral fat-quarters. You can see some of the shoe-box type storage in the upper right of this photo - something better needs to happen.

I took a couple of hours late afternoon to sit and visit and fionish up this next hexie motif - another one in the done column.

It was my reward for getting out on that hike in an effort to get back to healthy living, and for spending time putting the studio back together.

Jessica claiming Abbeygate!

She has been sorting reds and neutrals at home and wanted to see it - I think she'll be inspired to dig in and start her own when she gets back home.

Today? Pushing it for another road hike. More studio work, time with the ladies, and definitely more porch time.

What's up on deck for your weekend?

I am so thrilled with the response to the Abundance pattern release!

I can't wait to see these blocks popping up as you share what you are making.

Tula coordinates so well with the porch decor. I hope you don’t overdo it with your recently healed ankle. Thanks for the reminder about Rockabilly Swing. I have sooo many of those saved cutoff triangles to use up. Plus strings. NEED to sew! FranSak

I always learn so much from you and how you store/sort your fabric is just as educational as your methods of cutting and constructing quilt blocks. I have a question: why do you keep the neutral and colored strips cut from shirts separately from the neutral and colored strips cut from yardage?
