Making Progress!

This might look crazy - but I often use the table side of myj long arm as a sorting station - draping the rails with strips that need to be filed away back into the scrap user's system.

The new system storage is working SO well!  I'm thrilled with the space - I even wrote on the labels as to which color is in each bin.

All of these strips are sorted by color family and size and it didn't take long before:

Take a gooed hard look because it won't stay this way for long! LOL!

The discard pile of "What color is it anyway?" And will I really use it? And stuff that didn't fit into Scrap User's System measurements.  These all went back into the string bins.

It was a bit of a crazy, busy morning with Housekeeper Susan working her magic, Son Jeff mowing the lawn and doing yard work stuff, and the arrival of the quarterly pest control folks.

Somehow I still managed to load the big blue backing and Stardust quilt top into the machine.

Let's get her quilted up!

I am loving how things turned out!

I quilted with a light blue thread in an edge-to-edge design called Wavy Gravy by Patricia E. Ritter of urbanelementz.com.

I love the texture on this quilt!

And so many fun scraps sewn in!

And here I am at the bottom edge! Lickity split!

I stayed quilting until 6pm - just because I wanted to see this done.

It's now waiting to be trimmed up and binding applied.

More blues & neutrals!

Winter Blues is hanging in the foyer - we are having a workshop with the September Quiltvillians during this retreat and I'm excited.

If you've got  Winter Blues uderway - maybe stalled out - why not pull it out and make some progress with the September Quiltvillians through Labor Day weekend?

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

It's time to stop beating yourself up!

Those projects you've put in timeout because they weren't perfect enough?

Time to pull them out, show them some love, and some unstitching if necessary and see what you can do to make a finish.

Have a terrific Thursday, everyone!

I am working on straightening up my sewing room too. It’s a huge job, but can already see progress! I also have lots of scraps to wrangle! It feels good to get it done.

  2. I like to approach those Time-Out projects (and I have my share!) as if a dear friend brought it to me and said, "I'm stuck! What do I do now?!?" In my head, I'm much kinder to "dear friends" than I seem to be to myself, so that's a nice little ploy to get that ugly voice (the one that keeps saying 'you were such an idiot to do that!') out of my head!

  3. Your room really looks nice. Very inviting. I almost hate to ask, but do you have more storage rooms or is that all you have?
