Taking Stitches, Everywhere!

This little back corner of the porch has become my favorite spot to sit and visit this summer!

And I think I'm not alone in that - it's been a great space to congregate with a bit of hand work, a beverage, a snack, and just kick back and enjoy the late afternoon vibes.

If you take a close look by the plant in the bottom right-ish you'll see a bucket containing the papers I've been de-papering from more string blocks.

Why de-paper in solitary when you can be surrounded by stitchy friends?

Cousins and life-long friends!

Over the past few years we've watched those Christmas trees grow on the hill in the background.

Beth is getting comfortable with her new CraftOptics glasses.  We will do whatever we can to improve our vision and get the stitching done!

We have some wonderful applique blocks in the making -

This one has amazing reverse applique -

Completed block with some others in progress!

Someone is catting around over here!

It's a whole herd!

The rickrack whiskers crack me up!

My favorite!

The pattern is from this Buggy Barn book.

Oh, this is going to be pretty!

Nine Patch & Star -

This is another Accuquilt die and the pieces fit together perfectly.

Patti is still working on her Plaited Block quilt - also an Accuquilt die.

deciding which border fabric to use when the time comes!

All of them. Use all of them!

This Accuquilt project is called Flowering Snowball.

Wowza!

Were I ever to dive into sewing curves, I think die cut would be the way to go. But that's a big IF! LOL!

More tiny pineapple blocks -

And some very fun paper-pieced scrappy triangles!

Some wool applique by machine!

Isn't this adorable?!

Four beautiful Morning Glories blocks up on the design wall!

And it's not just blocks - it's also bag finishes!

I love how roomy The Boxy Tote is - great bag!

Lone Star in progress became:

Oh, how gorgeous!

The TaDa quilters just kept on with the making of beautiful things - some quick projects, some taking a bit longer, but every stitch binding them closer to one another.

I'm so happy that they came to share their time with me at Quiltville Inn.

Flash - cozy enough to tuck his paws under.

He's still living by the 6 ft away rule, but he doesn't seem to mind the hustle, bustle and novice of many people around.  Little by little we are winning him over.

And yes things are still happening here.

Other than a much needed haircut on Saturday (YES!) I spent most of my weekend time at my desk getting this week's Abundance PDF pattern release ready for Wednesday.

It's almost ready!

I did take some time to feed my soul with some block assembly for my blue string quilt.

I'm ebbing into being about 3/4 the way done - but there are still many units to be made and the blue string bucket it not going down.  At all.  LOL!

Today - it's an "Off To Costco" Day to order up my new glasses at the optical center.

I'm hoping I find some cute frames.  Nothing too drastic, but I wouldn't mind something a bit fun.

And maybe two pairs this time.

It's about an hour and 45 minutes one way...load up the audio books and let's drive!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Keep your focus on the progress, not the setbacks!
Antique hexagon quilt I photographed rom the 1718 Coverlet exhibit, Festival of Quilts Birmingham, UK. In 2018.

Welcome to Monday, everyone!

What will you do with it?

Do you like your CraftOptics glasses? I had not heard of these before, but they look interesting.

  4. Much progress has happened at the Inn. Safe travels to get new glasses ordered. I got purple lightweight frames this time. Just waking up on this Monday in August. Sew on Bonnie.
